"It seems you kept us." Corry said, while giving Adria a stink eye.
"I apologize. There so happened to be a commotion at work." Adria chuckled and slipped into her sit.
She was surprised that Corry hadn't jumped on her yet.
No, it was good, she hadn't.
"What was the reason for your calling?" Adria settled in fully, and Corry, kept an eye on her.
Adria equally noticed, there was an elderly man seated next to her.
In her second guess, this must have been his father, Duran Atthill
"It's lovely to meet you, Mr. Atthill." She took his hands in hers.
"Like wise." The moment Adria turned to face Corry, she saw her eyes shooting daggers, and she dared not to look, at them.
Author suddenly appeared from her back, his tall figure towering over her, and his sent blocking out every others.
Adria wiped her head backwards gently, her eyes locking with his for the first time, and his doing the same.
He couldn't help but stare.
Her almond shaped eyes, pink plumped lips, brown silky hair, and, a smile that made him want to do flips all over again.
Author cleared his throat. "You're in my sit."
Adria immediately felt stupid, her face turning bright red, the second she noticed that.
"Right." She quickly moved to another sit, letting him pull out the one she last sat in.
"Mother… what was the reason for this… sudden call?' Author said with a brow cocked.
Corry gave Adria one dirty look, before shaping have gaze back on Author. "it clearly seems, that you are still determined to keep this…" she eyed her. "girl by your side."
"What was the point of this meeting?"
"I want you guys to see, yet another thing, I found about her." With that, she pulled out files of abortions, and Adria's name were all on them.
Author chuckled. "Did you come here to embarrass her?"
Duran glanced at her, his eye hoping to see some sort of denial.
Adria stared at the file blankly…
What kind of person was she? That was the first thought that came to mind.
She began laughed slightly. "I… I've never had an abortion… mother."
"Oh please… spear me the decency… you know it yourself."
Adria clenched her hands, it was beyond annoying, the way she felt.
Was this a frame? Or what?
She pushed her sit back, grabbing her purse and coat.
"I clearly seem to have came here for nothing."
Corry gasped at her rude tone.
"Insolent child." Duran stepped in, stopping her from leaving. "Are these files true?"
"I've never seen them…" she held her head up high.
"Then explain… why does it have your name on them?"
Adria side eyed Author, hoping for at least the slightly back to up, but nothing.
"This seems to be a misunderstanding…" she turned and headed out the door, leaving both Author, Corry, and Duran speechless.
"How dare she?" Corry huffed in anger.
On the other hand, Adria was about blowing a fuse.
How on earth, did she actually get in here?
All she wanted to do was die in peace yet…
Adria turned and bumped into Author.
"let's talk."
*** ***
"What happened? Why didn't you tell me?"
Adria remained silent. What answer was she meant to give him? The fact that this actually wasn't her? The fact that she has no memories about what happened, to the real Adria? The fact that she didn't even love him?
Adria looked down, her mind getting filled with bitter thoughts.
"I have no idea how, or when that happened… It must have been a mistake."
"a mistake?" he nodded, clearly not understanding her. "a mistake that had your name printed out, all over it?"
Adria exhaled.
"It seem your mother, dislikes me, Author, so…" Adria looked at him, the wind blowing hard at that moment, making her hair come towards her face.
"This… this used my favorite place to come." He interrupted. "you could get a clear view at NEW YORK. But now, it feels like I don't have a clear sighting." Author turned to her, his hand now resting on the railing.
"Is it because of me?" she asked while turning to take, the so called clear view.
"Most of it."
Her lips itches for a smile.
"I'm trying my best, to make this relationship work Adria… but you just keep on pushing it… further, and further away from my reach."
How could she explain? That everything wasn't her fault?
What kind of person was she?
Adria pressed both her hands together. "forgive me… for causing you so much pain."
Author kept quiet, and she took this chance to speak.
Her mind hesitant at first, but now, this was actually her life, she was going to set things straight...
From the point of who pushed her off, to the point of the man in the picture, to the point of Dakota, with his contact of her compan... And mostly, to the point of her relationship with Author.
Adria built up the courage... She didn't know how this might have turned out, but still... In every, innocent life, they said...
It had to be now, or never.
She wasn't going to stay in a loveless relationship... She had already been through, so why relive it?
The air remained tin, and breeze blew hard, making it hard for her to breath properly.
"Author…" she called, a crack nearly inching to her voice... "don't you think, it'll be best that we… went out separate way's?"
At first it didn't sink in, not until, he got the chance to process it fully.
With a worried look, be turned.
"What?"
