A free woman, he says. Adria looked down at the necklace on the floor, now getting cover up by mud, and dirt.
She sighed and looked up.
People didn't deserve her kindness, none at all.
Adria pulled on her hair, making it come undone.
"What a hassle."
"What?" Author arched his brows.
She was going to take on the true form of Adria Cadell, and show kindness to those who needed it, and right now, Author didn't seem to need it.
"You heard me." She threw the hair pin on the floor, and stumped on it. "I wasted time, and effort in coming here, ha, I even wore this." She huffed. "All for what? This embarrassment?" She spun around, and with that one spin, slapped him tight.
"You disgrace me Author Atthill. And indeed I'm glad to be free, I'm free from your grandparents, they seriously were pains." Author turned to her with a glare, and she could only but fold her arms with a slightly cocking brow.
"Suit yourself, believe what they tell you, only fools do." Adria gasped and placed a hand over her mouth. "You already seemed to have."
Author grabbed her hand, his grip tight. "Who do you think you are to hit me?"
"It's good you said that." Adria tried to pull her hand out of his, but to no avail.
"Let go."
"And if I don't."
Both their glares clashed in a battle, the rain starting to get heavy, and when a thunder stroke, her eyes closed.
That sounds, she hated to her guts.
Author noticed this, and decided to let her off the hook, just this once.
He let's go of her hand, but with a fling, turning and tucking his hands into his pants.
"Get lost."
She scoffed. "Glad you finally show your true colors."
Author remained silent, and Adria narrowed her eyes, she huffed and turned on her heels, her hands suiting her sink from the cold, as she began heading out of the cemetery.
It was unfortunate that she took his car, else she wouldn't be needing to walk on foot.
Going back to his house would only be more pathetic of her, it was best that she went back to her house instead.
Adria stopped… her purse, and everything she came with was all in his car. Crap!
*** ***
Samantha sipped on a hot, mouth warming tea, her chair rocking as she sat down, and a blanket covering her legs from the cold.
She couldn't help but wear a smile, one that seemed to last.
The bell rang, and she glanced up…
What could anyone possibly want, from such a place, late at night, nearly in the middle of nowhere.
Samantha got up, her hand clenching onto a news paper, as she approached the door, using the peep hole to get a look at whoever it was, and it turned out to be…
"Vero?" she was damped wet, and her hair was messy thanks to the rain, and her hand wrapped around herself as if she was going to freeze any given moment.
Samantha immediately opened the door and let her in, making sure to put more wood into the fire house.
"sit…" Adria nodded, and took a sit right in front of the fire house, while Samantha got an extra blanket for cover, using it to wrap around her body, as she offered hot tea.
"What happened?" Adria looked up at her, her eyes watery.
"Mother…" She nearly sobbed. "I… don't know what is going on, or why I'm here… everyone… it seems they hate me." Adria finally broke down, tears rolling down her eyes as Samantha sat next to her and began the comforting.
"You first have to explain, what happened, then I can know what to do."
"Author and I-" Adria stopped, that was right, she didn't think her knew of Author.
"Go on." Samantha moved closer.
Adria busted out into tears, her hand coming to her face.
"It's all so wrong… mother, I… my name." she didn't know where to start, and all She saw Samantha doing was nodding to all her words. "You don't understand do you."
"because you have failed to explain… Veronica, that's why I'm here."
"one month ago, I killed myself mother, the Veronica you once knew died a month ago… I woke in this body, as a new person, and I had been told that, I was pushed off a building, this person Adria, has a striking look towards me, but not all notice." Adria looked at her mother, who seemed to not have taken in what she just said.
"I knew it…" Adria cover her face with her hand. "telling you was such a bad idea. You don't understand a thing do you?" Adria sobbed, her life seemed to be getting worse and worse, how could she fix all this.
"veronica…" he voice was soft, and calming. "Either death, or a change of name, or a change of life… I'd still have my connection to you… you know why?" Samantha took Adria's cheek into her palm. "Because you are my daughter, either when you change, or not, I still hold you dear." That was right, her mother, she had also said something about her hair…
She always told short stories.
And one of them was; Once lived a girl in a tower, her hair long and silky, she was a princess, who wanted to see the world, that was her.
Adria felt her mind go at ease.
"whenever you feel like you can explain better, let me know… but for now, you need rest, your body is hot. Lay down." Samantha patted her laps, and Adria chuckled, she placed her head on her mother's laps, and closed her eyes the soothing feeling of her mother rubbing her head, making her feel sleepy fast.
"Rest, and tomorrow restart."
