Cedric trailed the massive demon closely, yet the being did not notice him.
Tormentor was taking his time reaching Eastern Tower despite Cedric's Displeasure at the demon doing so, when fulfilling God's mission time taken was unimportant as long as the mission was successful.
The large double door of the tower opened, large enough to easily let a massive demon pass it.
The creature seemed to be in a hurry, whatever it was doing seemed to be important to it.
'Hmm, It suddenly started rushing, perhaps it sensed me. God hadn't given me specialty in stealth after all.' Cedric mused as he slipped past the closing double door.
'Strangely empty.' Cedric looked around the empty hall.
The insides of the towers were pretty wide, enough to accommodate four trebuchets side by side easily.
Its stone walls were decorated with various paintings, showing a minotaur draining the blood of countless soldiers and the same minotaur fighting side by side with humans.
The floor was made of stone, yet it lacked any decoration. It was as if he had just walked into an arena.
Strangely no demons were present, only echoes of Minotaur's stomps reverberated as the demon climbed to its chambers.
Fortunately, emptiness worked to his advantage, The minotaur would be alone and the mission would be an easy success.
"I know you are following me. Tell me who sent you." A voice came from every direction in the tower, from every corner, and from every brick, speaking to Cedric.
The voice echoed, penetrating the very being of those who have heard it.
<
'So that is what you are attempting, foul demon!' Cedric chuckled at the foolish attempt.
While [Dominate Mind] seemed to be a rather powerful technique, it was nothing in the face of God's Chosen.
<
The second attempt was as futile as the first, [Dominate Mind] merely failing to even slightly inconvenience God's Chosen.
"If you speak, I will be merciful!" Blood dripped from the walls, forming small pools where it landed.
<
Pools grew exponentially as the blood continued to drip from the walls.
50 pools merged into a large lake of blood, it rippled as if someone threw a skipping stone at it.
'Results of [Hemomancy] huh...' Cedric looked at the blood with curiosity.
Was it human blood? Was it animal blood? Was it demon blood?
Cedric did not know, and it did not matter.
Blood erupted in countless pillars, each swirling and coalescing into itself.
From liquid pillars emerged creatures made of blood, their forms fluctuating, revealing their semi-liquid existence.
<
<
"Pure physical brutes, nothing to be worried about."
Each of the constructs was identical, blood creatures with immense physical power and yet no skills, despite their high level they were useless.
But being able to summon a Level 80 creature was indeed powerful and could not be underestimated.
After all these creatures were stronger than his Guardian Angels.
And so many of them appeared before him, if he had not been God's Chosen even one of these would be a nightmare to deal with due to their [Physical Immunity].
'No, [Dominate Mind] would end the fight before it even started, but due to God's Grace he was immune to such meddling.' Cedric uttered a quick prayer before activating [Divine Storm], at minimal output.
The blood constructs collapsed, and their forms became liquid again.
"Powerful, you are indeed..." The voice echoed again, each word imbued with [Dominate Mind].
<
The pool of blood coalesced once again. instead of pillars of blood the lake that took most of the floor merged together in a singularity, for a moment it rippled.
Then it shrank. Then it expanded. It acted almost in a way a heart would.
Cedric looked at it with amusement, the demon was about to summon his trump card before even fighting him with his own hands, what else to expect from a foul creature of darkness?
Thump...Thump...Thump...
It echoed for what seemed to be ages despite only seconds passing.
Singularity dropped onto the ground, creating a swirl of blood, swirl reached the ceiling before coalescing into a monstrous form of blood.
<
"Same as before, huh? A demon thinks a mere brute would best God's Chosen." Physical resistance did not matter. Against God's chosen any and all immunity will be purged.
[Holy Strike], Cedric activated his skill, Equilibrium glowed in holy light once again before the Blood Construct was destroyed in a single hit.
The bloody remnants sizzled as the holy light burned it.
"You aren't speaking anymore, are you... A demon called Tormentor..." Cedric spoke to nobody, he did not need a target. he knew that Demon would hear him.
Cedric knew where the demon was, after all, "Nothing can escape [God's Eye]".
"O Lord that is in heaven, grant me the guidance to protect and bring those that lack the light to you. O King of Kings, Grant me the power to cleanse this Pagan world of the demonic influence. Grant Humanity forgiveness for falling for the lies of demons. Amen." Cedric recited a prayer, loudly enough for his voice to echo and instill fear in creatures of darkness.
With a sure step, he climbed the tower, his stomps making sure his ascent was heard.
Minotaur was clearly preparing himself for the battle, as shown by hastily built obstacles.
'Grease, spikes... Useless.' Such mundane traps would be of no consequence. Demon could try and run and yet it stayed to face unknown.
It overestimated itself, after all, it was near the pinnacle of strength.
It wasn't long before Cedric found himself right at the room's entrance where Tormentor was.
With a great swing of Equilibrium door shattered, revealing a room flowing with blood, pipes of blood spread across the walls like arteries.
In the middle was a great throne of iron and upon it sat the Tormentor, Lord of Blood.
"Worthy opponent at long last, step forth challenger..." Tormentor spoke with a grin, its pitch-black skin contrasting its disgustingly yellow eyes. It wore elaborate robes of black and gold.
And its weapon was what looked like a fleshy whip.
The Minotaur rose, its frame easily instilling fear in everything except God's chosen.
'Abomination... Time for your end.' Cedric spoke to himself as he prepared to strike down a foul creature.
