Cedric took his time looking through the abandoned buildings, many corpses could be found in every direction, it truly filled him with happiness that so many demons were slaughtered.
Humans would have a lot of work to do to clean up these corpses and blood stains. Tower debris littered the streets, and splattered demon remains were visible below large stones.
It was a wonderful sight for impure blood to be spilled, despite the barbaric humans capturing so many of them alive.
In death they were purified, in death they were sent to be punished for their betrayal of God's will.
It was a wonderful thing, making him smile as he walked through the trail of splattered demons.
He searched for only one thing, Cedric searched for demon forges, Aurelia lost both her weapon and armor in the mission, so it was only natural to get her a weapon to replace what was lost.
A weapon was the extension of the Paladin's soul, it was an instrument and tongue that would bring God's will upon the Infidels.
If he was to teach Aurelia about the truth of Christianity her soul needed to be repaired by obtaining a high-quality weapon.
However Demon weapons were bound to be corrupted, no matter their quality they were not to be used by soldiers of God, he would personally make sure it was purified and empowered.
Most of the buildings were intact, despite a lot of them being drenched in blood from his elemental.
Soldiers did a good job sweeping everything, even with his [God's Eye] it was impossible to find any remaining demons, they were all either enslaved or killed while a small number were left to escape and sow fear in Demon territory.
Searching for forges near the Eastern tower was useless as its destruction completely obliterated a large part of its surroundings.
He quickly moved to Western Tower where he continued his search, for a town of this size, easily bordering the size of a city it was strange that not many forges existed even if they were buried in ruins.
"Ah finally," Cedric approached a forge, it fortunately was intact but its workers were missing, possibly captured as slaves for humanity or killed far away from this place.
However, he was fortunate as all the tools and supplies still remained, easily allowing him to begin forging.
It did not matter to him, he was here to find a suitable weapon, most of the finished produce was far below his standard, however, he was used to Damascus steel, and not these half-assed chunks of iron.
He would not suffer a new warrior of God to wield such a weapon, it would be a blasphemy to not wield the best.
Aurelia was certainly still in the early stages of accepting the faith but she had potential, and for that, Cedric decided to gather a large number of the blades.
With a clang he placed them inside the forge, Cedric himself would create a blade worthy of a new God's soldier.
'I am not the best blacksmith but God's hand will guide me as it always did.' Cedric put his faith in God as he set a fire inside the forge.
Despite rising heat in the forge, Cedric felt no heat, which could be credited to the blessing bestowed upon him by God.
The impure so-called steel glowed orange, letting Cedric refine it into something better, something pure.
The blades he wanted to melt had high-carbon steel, nickel, and everything else needed for high-quality Damascus steel.
He looked around before putting his hand inside his pouch, fortunately, he always carried fine sand with him that could act as flux which was the only thing lacking in the forge, a crucial part in creating Damascus steel as it reduced melting point.
He pressed his leg onto the bellows, increasing airflow inside the forge.
With the skill of a veteran blacksmith he pulled the metal out of the forge and with precise hammer strikes he layered and molded the steel.
Each strike was guided by God's Purpose.
Each strike carried enough holy energy capable of obliterating demonic armies.
Each strike was imbued with [Purify], with a perfect combination of technique and holy power the perfect steel was created, much stronger than old Damascus steel he knew.
Cedric stood up, and he approached a barrel of Acid, with a dip the etching was completed.
The speed the blade cooled astonished even him before dipping it into a barrel of water.
It was a marvelous blade, fit for a holy warrior, it radiated holy energy like a beacon in a storm.
Layer after layer, each strike making sure no impurity remained, a holy weapon for a holy aspirant.
He gripped the hilt before drenching it in water, cooling off the steel.
It was a beautiful blade,
He sighed before clasping his hands together. It was a good time for prayer, and he would not let it pass him by.
However, he was interrupted by the Angel connection.
[[Creator], VIP Aurelia had awoken.] The robotic voice of the Archangel reached him.
[Excellent, I shall return soon.] Cedric answered, that he still had something to do. With a click the connection was cut off, letting Cedric return to his goal.
'What perfect timing, I'm just about done here' Cedric looked over the blade, It had a beautiful long blade with a prominent pattern, only one thing was missing, and that was giving it a name.
Cedric activated [God's Eye], until now he had never tried gazing into items, but he did not doubt that God's abilities would grant him insight.
<< Item: Damascus steel greatsword, Quality: Masterful, Enchantment: None, Affinity: Holy, Name: None, Creator: Cedric>>
Information was quite deep, he could see its general type, quality, affinity, enchantment, and even its creator, in addition, he could discern any materials that were inside the finished product.
Once again he was amazed by God's blessing, and once again he thanked God for such an honor.
He placed the blade in front of him before reciting a prayer. "God by your grace I have created this weapon to deliver justice in your name, This blade will cut through Demons and infidels alike, Lord of Lords I beseech your blessing once more, may the wielder of this weapon strike true in your name. Amen"
He was proud of it, a Masterful Quality weapon, admittedly he had never created anything of this quality, but it was not his work, no it was God that guided him to create such a masterpiece.
A suitable blade for a new soldier of God.
"I name this blade, Zenith." Cedric proclaimed while casting [Enchant Weapon]. It was a grandiose name, however only the most grand of names are fitting for instruments of God's Will.
Zenith glowed in strong holy light, easily blinding a lesser man.
Runes appeared over its blade, their holy glow representing the blade's name.
<< Item: Holy Damascus steel greatsword, Quality: Legendary, Enchantment: Holy, Affinity: Holy, Name: Zenith, Creator: Cedric>>
It was incredible, a blade blessed by God himself, of course, it would be Legendary.
"Aurelia will need to prove herself worthy of such Divine Blade as Zenith but all in due time." Cedric mused as he wrapped it in scrap cloth.
Just as he finished the name he was contacted by Archangel once again, with a simple question.
[VIP Aurelia, Requests to name this entity, Asking for permission from [Creator].] Archangel spoke with reverence once again.
He was curious about the effect of naming. Perhaps there would be no problems with Aurelia naming this one, as he had gifted her the Archangel in a way.
[Permission Granted.] Cedric permitted before cutting the connection.
The forging was done, and Aurelia would once again have an instrument of Divine will. This time, she would channel the might of God himself instead of mere pretenders.
"You better not disappoint God, Aurelia..." Cedric mused, despite everything he still had doubts that were on her to dispel, but he would not be so foolish as to once again dismiss the young paladin.
