Start of the Senate Meeting [1]

It was almost time, and the nobility gathered in a grand building, rivaling even the royal palace.

It was constructed of marble and gold-like material, two golden domes acted as its roof with a flag of Valar billowing in the wind.

Aurelia took a deep breath; her Guardians, Raguel and even her beloved Cedric, were on her side.

Her new family, her new life.

And yet as she looked at Cedric, she could feel his fury, something that she hadn't experienced ever since he had fought demons in Vitpacar.

Only one entity could have caused such a reaction at the current time, and it was the Church of Chrunus.

She wished to ask him what it was about, but she decided against it.

"Aurelia, soon you will be a Queen." Cedric's voice grew colder, "Many enemies will emerge, and so as The First Star, you will deal with them."

She just nodded in response, meanwhile Raguel stood at the side in complete silence.

Allmighty Father was speaking. Which meant that only ones addressed by Father were allowed a voice.

His voice softened, "Christians started emerging, and it's all thanks to you." Cedric approached her with his hand on her shoulder.

Aurelia resisted squirming as Cedric continued speaking, "I am truly proud of you, Aurelia."

Despite not seeing her beloved's face, she could swear that she saw him smile.

In the next moment, a hint of anger she sensed earlier seeped out, "And yet, Church of Chrunus dares attempt to hunt them down."

"I have personally hunted down 6 contingents that were on the hunt."

Aurelia raised her eyebrow, worry lining her every word. "Are you sure they are hunting them, my beloved?"

"Yes, while Christians are in small numbers, Chrunus did not spare manpower to hunt them down."

Cedric did not know how Christianity was already spreading outside Aurelia's inner circle but he did not complain; it was truly wonderful news.

Aurelia nodded.

"Once you are crowned, we will root out this pagan church. Together, you deserve such an honor after everything you have done for God's mission."

Aurelia grinned, "Only if you marry me!"

Cedric stood in silence for a moment, "Perhaps after my holy mission is completed, and if God ordains it to be so."

'He didn't reject me?! Progress!' She celebrated.

Cedric truly did soften in his demeanour towards her. The first time they met, he had dismissed her and even looked at her in disdain.

And now... There was approval and care.

Her lips widened into a bright smile, which gave her all the motivation to not be anxious of the senate.

"Each moment the Church of Chrunus exists is a moment that delays demon extinction." He moved his hand from Aurelia's shoulder, much to her disappointment.

Such a vile organization existed for far too long, and now they dared hunt budding Christianity.

"They are as vile as demons themselves!"

First, they defiled nature, a creation of God, by recklessly cutting down forests, which would lead to unforeseen disasters as punishment for destroying one of God's gifts.

And now they dared raise their blade against Christians.

Cedric had to be patient, he had decided to wait until Aurelia took the throne before eradicating them.

It took every fiber of his being to resist the urge to level every church and every believer of Chrunus.

It was God's trial. That he was sure of.

Could he restrain himself, could he wait until The First Star officially became the queen?

While her being the Queen did not accelerate the rate of rooting out the church directly, it would have an excellent effect by drawing out all enemies that saw Christianity as a foe.

Right now, he did not know who could be spared and converted, and who would be cut down by Equilibrium.

However, the moment Aurelia, Someone who was known by the church as a proponent of Christianity, took the throne, they would act.

They would show their ugly faces, which would have the effect of showing exactly where the rot was.

It would be unwise to purge every infidel without such knowledge.

It was a part of the reason Cedric had decided to accompany Raguel and Aurelia.

The First Star would most certainly be shunned and voted against.

But it did not matter in the end, the vote did not decide if she was to rule.

What truly was the goal was for Cedric himself to see who dared defy The First Star.

Every vote against her would mean one house culled, and every face would be remembered.

Nobility had gathered, thinking they were to decide her fate... And yet they were only deciding their own.

Cedric turned to Raguel, who took a professional stance with her hands in front of her, 'I likely could have left culling of nobility to her... but I cannot leave everything to The First Star and The Judge.'

It was his duty as God's Chosen to both guide those who accepted Christ and punish those who defied God's Will.

Aurelia stepped forward and entered the senate meeting hall.

It was a massive semi-circular room, with a podium for the speaker, and lines of seats lining the walls.

10 Noble houses and their representatives filled the seats with at least 200 people.

Each house brought 20 representatives, with the house head's vote depending on the will of the majority in their respective committee.

If 11 Representatives voted against the decision of the house head, then the house head's vote would be as such.

However, 20 members historically always voted for the decision of the head, after all nobody would defy a duke of a major house.

Aurelia gulped as she stepped forward.

The chatter quieted down as she took a stance at the Podium.

Raguel walked forward, standing at Aurelia's right side, while Cedric stood by the entrance.

His gaze washed over all gathered nobles.

Some of them gave him worried looks, but Cedric cared not.

Soon, those who would be a threat to God's Plan would be revealed.

His fingers twitched for a moment.

Be it by Raguel's scales or Equilibrium's edge.

They would all accept Christ or be cast to hell with the demons they worship.
