Starley glanced at Ezra for a moment before walking closer to him. Since Ezra was shorter than her, Starley placed both hands on her knees to crouch down so that her face was level with his.

"Do you hate me?" Starley finally asked.

Ezra blinked in surprise at that. "Why would I hate you?" he replied, looking confused.

The boy's answer took aback Starley. "I was the one who asked Raul to kill your father, and your mother was also detained afterwards," Starley explained.

 

Ezra stared at Starley for a moment before speaking. "As for Ibrahim, he deserves it, and for my mother, I feel more at peace with her in prison than if she were free."

Did Ezra refer to his father by his name? From Ezra's reaction, it seemed he had gone through a tough childhood in this mafia environment. It was hard to believe that a child raised with love would respond like this if something bad happened to their parents.
