Jonathan was inside his room and he was packing his clothes inside his traveling bags. It took him quite a while to locate his room. He discovered that everything was still the same, just that the interior design was different from how it should be.
Since he knew everything was still the same, it became easier for him to find his room, and thankfully his clothes didn't change. Everything about his personal belongings was the same.
Jonathan continued filling up his traveling bag. He didn't receive any information about them going to the headquarters, but according to his knowledge they should be heading to the headquarters soon, so he wanted to be ready.
He couldn't wait to get to know more about the world and how he would be able to climb the ladder fast enough to save Dreamway from Alphacrest.
If he wouldn't be able to climb the ranks faster than he was imagining, he would find a way to kill the leaders without climbing the ranks. All he needed was to have more power than them.
Jonathan was almost done packing his clothes when a knock came from the door. The door was opened already, Jonathan only had to look at the person who was knocking. He turned to face the doorway and he was surprised that the person standing close to the door was Charles Wesley, his goddamn superior.
Seeing Jonathan had turned to face him, Charles entered Jonathan's room with his hands behind his back.
"Not many soldiers could have their room this clean. The battlefield is a rough place so they like to dwell in rough places as well."
Charles said as he looked around Jonathan's room before turning to face Jonathan.
"Where are your comrades?"
His eyes locked in on Jonathan, his presence alone would cause other privates to experience coldness in their body, while his gaze could cause them to shiver, but Jonathan was entirely different.
Jonathan was looking directly into Charles' eyes like he was the superior in the room.
Jonathan didn't want to respond to Charles but he had no choice.
"They are all dead... sir."
Charles stared into Jonathan's eyes for some seconds before he broke eye contact.
"I see. They were part of the brave soldiers that boldly gave up their lives today!"
Charles walked up to Jonathan and placed his hands on Jonathan's shoulder.
"I heard you did a great job today, soldier. That is the spirit I want to see from the boys in my base, especially from the new recruitment. We must show Alphacrest that we are not some hamburger that could easily be squeezed and shoved into the mouth. We will fight back with everything we got even if it's not enough.
We will ensure we give them a tough time."
Jonathan was already tired of Charles' presence, and he felt like smacking Charles in the face since Charles was standing very close to him, however Jonathan held himself.
"Sir. You didn't come all the way from your office to tell me how good of a fighter I am. Surely that is not the case here. "
Charles smiled when he heard that. He turned facing the doorway before continuing.
"Definitely not. I have seen better soldiers than you over the years that I became the commander of this base.
You have to work your butt off if you want to make my list of great starters, and you even awakened the martial arts ability, meaning you will have to work your butt ten times harder than whatever you are imagining to even make it to the tenth position on the list!"
Charles faced Jonathan waiting to hear his words, but Jonathan was silent. Seeing Charles wasn't going to say anything else, Jonathan had to reply to his words.
"I will be the best they ever were and I will show you in your face."
Charles eyebrows pushed down to his eyes, he didn't know whether to find Jonathan words insulting or Jonathan was only trying to motivate himself. He believed the latter.
"You better do it."
Jonathan's eyes became deadly when Charles said that.
'Of course. I will.'
Jonathan sounded in his mind.
Charles walked to the doorway before turning to face Jonathan again.
"Your wife is here to see you, because of the new protocol she wasn't allowed inside, but due to your outstanding performance today, I decided to tweak the rules for only you. You can go see her, she is waiting at the civilians waiting hall."
Jonathan's forehead folded a little when he heard his wife, and from the mouth of Charles Wesley, the man that was having his way with her.
Jonathan subconsciously squeezed his fist hard as he thought about it.
"You shouldn't keep a woman waiting, Private Jonathan. Especially at a rough time like this and the dangers we are about to embark on."
Without responding to Charles' words, Jonathan slowly approached the door.
He came out of his room and was about to leave but Charles stopped him. Charles sounded softly.
"She is a beautiful woman. You should keep her, Jonathan. It's hard for a Private to have such a beautiful wife."
