Elias sighed, rolling his shoulders as he leaned against the wall of his temporary quarters. The adrenaline that had fueled his escape was beginning to fade, leaving him with an unsettling mix of relief and apprehension.
e had managed to get away from the Viscount, and with Prince Aedric and Lady Selene backing him up, he hadn't been taken captive or worse. That alone was something worth celebrating.
But now came the difficult part.
He could feel the weight of the prince's and Lady Selene's gazes on him. Neither had said much after intimidating the Viscount's guards into submission, but now that they were in private, the atmosphere was charged with expectation.
"So," Aedric finally said, arms crossed over his chest, "are you going to tell us what exactly happened back there?"
