Yi Bai: I'm Done!

"The once-glorious Parasitic Scarecrow Jack, a nightmare to countless human players, is dead—beyond resurrection. His body, now packed into an oversized gift box, was carefully wrapped with a touch of elegance. Gifts should always look the part, after all.

After the Rose Countess and Jiang Ling departed, holding the massive gift box, the trembling and horrified lesser spirits that had been cowering on the ground slowly regained their senses. The owner of the ghostly supermarket, a Minotaur, cautiously climbed down from the beef shelf, wiping the cold sweat from his brow as he muttered, "What's happening to the world lately? Are blood-clad ghosts like cabbage now, worth nothing? They're popping up everywhere. In just a few days, I've run into them at least three times!"

Clearly, the Minotaur was having an incredibly bad—or unusually good—streak of luck. To encounter blood-clad ghosts, terrifying beings of immense power, repeatedly in such a short time was no ordinary stroke of fate.

"Shh! Old Bull, are you trying to get yourself killed? You can't just talk about them like that!" A water monkey, standing next to the Minotaur, trembled and warned him.

"Ah... too reckless! I got carried away!" The Minotaur stiffened, quickly lowering his head and bowing repeatedly, as if trying to ward off any potential wrath from the Rose Countess and Jiang Ling, praying that they wouldn't return for a second round.

Fortunately, the Rose Countess wasn't bored enough to make a dramatic reappearance just to torment these minor spirits. It wasn't long before the chaotic atmosphere in the ghost supermarket settled, with the bizarre sightings of blood-clad ghosts becoming a hot topic among the spirits.

But what they didn't realize was the dark significance behind their frequent appearances...

Third Hospital.

Outside the VIP consultation room, a long line of monstrous patients had begun to grow restless. They had been waiting ever since the hospital director, Quirles, entered the room with a mysterious guest, and there had been no sound of names being called.

As the patients became more agitated, a swarm of black shadows, formed from bats, suddenly appeared before the Third Hospital's doors, carrying two figures.

"Hiss!!!"

The two guards, with heads like tigers, gasped in shock. They had only been absent for one day, and now the Rose Countess, this terrifying figure, was back at the hospital. The only thing they could do was stand rigidly, frozen in place, not daring to move.

However, the Rose Countess and her even more horrifying companion—who seemed to give off a particularly ominous aura—paid them no mind. They marched ahead, carrying the oversized gift box, and headed directly towards the VIP consultation room.

In an instant, the entire hospital fell silent, with the only sound being the crisp echo of the Countess's footsteps. Both the patients and hospital staff stood frozen, not daring to breathe, resembling nothing more than lifeless scarecrows under Jack's control.

But this wasn't entirely their fault.

The Rose Countess was no stranger to the Third Hospital. While the ghostly patients and staff regarded her with respect, they were not terrified. After all, she was a noble and followed the supposed "noble codes," so she didn't cause unnecessary chaos. But her companion? That was another story.

Jiang Ling, the Rose Countess's "black-hearted best friend"—the ominous Mistress of the Tomb of Corpses—was not someone to be trifled with. Small and seemingly cute, Jiang Ling had a charming demeanor that hid her erratic and unpredictable nature.

Many ghosts who had tried to supply the Countess with embarrassing rumors about Jiang Ling hadn't lived to see the light of day.

Jiang Ling had visited the Third Hospital before, sniffing out the Countess's "dirty laundry," and not a few ghostly patients, even some doctors, had met untimely ends in the process.

With such a powerful and unpredictable blood-clad ghost by her side, the other spirits couldn't help but tremble in fear. However, Jiang Ling wasn't focused on them today. Her cunning eyes were shifting, perhaps plotting something more mischievous.

On the way here, she had made an agreement with the Rose Countess—she wouldn't act recklessly when meeting Yi Bai. But then again, when had Jiang Ling ever been easy to control?

As a qualified "black-hearted best friend," if she didn't occasionally "dig up some walls," could she truly call herself one?

"Director, what do you think of this material? Could it be used to craft a decent puppet?"

After confirming that Jack's soul fragments had left the puppet, Yi Bai calmly approached the body and examined it before asking Quirles.

"Hmm…" Quirles silently mourned the loss of his "old friend" Jack for three seconds before nodding decisively. "With a red-clad ghost body like this, we could upgrade it to a quasi-red-clad level puppet."

"I see, then I'll have to trouble you…" Yi Bai was about to ask Quirles for help when suddenly, the door to the consultation room creaked open.

A small figure, moving faster than the eye could follow, darted up to Yi Bai and, without warning, grabbed his hand and sniffed it like a little dog.

The sudden movement happened so quickly that even the red-clad ghosts Quirles and Lina didn't have time to react.

"Yi Bai!"

Lina, caught off guard, became visibly flustered, her nerves on edge. She had seen Jiang Ling before, and didn't dare act rashly. She turned to the Rose Countess, standing in the doorway with a stern expression, her gaze cold.

"Jiang Ling!"

The Rose Countess's voice was low and menacing, each word sharp.

"Cough, cough!" Jiang Ling reluctantly let go of Yi Bai's hand, swallowing hard. She took a few steps back, muttering defensively, "I was just sniffing, just sniffing, okay?"

"Mm-hmm," the Rose Countess replied with a chilling smile. "Remember the rules, Jiang Ling. You don't want to bring shame upon the Tomb of Corpses, do you? I suggest you behave yourself, or else…"

Jiang Ling: ε(┬┬﹏┬┬)3

Life's hard for a zombie.

Being under the thumb of the Countess was never pleasant, but Jiang Ling was a zombie who kept her promises. For now, she had no choice but to stand quietly, though her crafty eyes never stopped scanning Yi Bai.

Yi Bai: T?T

I'm done... really done...

First, there's the Rose Countess, practically drooling with hunger. Now, a little zombie is eyeing me like prey.

Question: How does one keep their precious blood safe when stuck between a blood-sucking vampire and a zombie, with no way to resist?

Waiting for answers, urgently!"
