The Unexplained Unease of the Lady in the Mirror: A Legal Lolita's Dilemma

For some reason, Yi Bai felt that his "lucky player" status was a bit dubious.

The first game had been a deadly, no-win scenario at the Third Hospital. Apart from him, all the players were wiped out, unable to survive even the first day.

As for the second game, the staff maintaining order in the park were quickly controlled by the "wild children." The sudden turn of events had drastically lowered the chances of survival.

If Yi Bai hadn't been in this game, he suspected that the only one who could have survived would be Huan Weng, given that the three veteran players didn't sabotage things.

Even so, the probability of a total wipeout was still high.

After a brief pause, Yi Bai looked at the delicate, fair hand that reached out of the mirror. Without hesitation, he reached out and took it in his own.

The dazzling lights and shadows seemed almost too much to take in—transforming everything as if shifting the very world around him.

The entity before him was a rare, death-like creature from the mirror world, something akin to a death angel. The realm of the mirror spirit lay within the mirror world. Yi Bai felt only slight unease, as his return scroll was still in hand. He was unsure about venturing in without a way out.

As for escaping to the Third Hospital... he'd prefer to keep that option for later, hoping to enjoy some peaceful moments with Lina before it refreshed. The contrast of both extremes was addictive for him, hard to forget.

The sun shone brightly, the grass a lush green. The mountains, streams, and countless birds all seemed to sing in harmony. The scent of flowers in the air made Yi Bai feel momentarily distracted.

A vibrant, beautiful butterfly landed on his fingertip, as if from a painting.

"Big Brother, do you think my home is beautiful?"

Shiel's amber eyes gleamed with anticipation, eager to show off the beauty of her home to the person she liked most.

"It's beautiful! It's the most beautiful place I've seen in this eerie world," Yi Bai replied sincerely.

He wasn't lying. After all, he had only experienced two locations: one filled with the stench of death and antiseptic at the Third Hospital, and the other, this amusement park.

The park's ghostly toys were grotesque, often featuring heads or eyes as their forms, full of frightful sights. Yet, the peaceful, floral scene before him was a rare and precious sight, a clean, pure land amidst the horror. It was certainly a rare gem.

Shiel's eyes narrowed into crescent moons as she beamed at Yi Bai's compliment. Eagerly, she spoke up, "Let's play a game together, Big Brother!"

"Before we start, may I ask you something, Shiel?" Yi Bai said, pausing briefly to speak more seriously.

"Hm~" Shiel gently bit her finger, her adorable demeanor making her even cuter. "What is it?"

Yi Bai felt a rush of nervousness, something deep inside him stirred—like needing an urgent blood pack!

The presence of this Gothic loli before him was far more striking than any virtual being. Even with his vast experience, he couldn't help but feel a slight tremor of excitement.

"May I ask... how old are you, Shiel?"

Yi Bai asked the simple question with an innocent tone. Considering Shiel's steadily growing affection for him, he didn't want to make any missteps that could lead to trouble.

But as soon as the question was asked, Shiel's face flushed a bright apple red. She nervously tugged at her princess skirt and lowered her head, looking adorably shy.

Yi Bai: "…"

Did he say something wrong? Why is she suddenly so bashful?

With a bewildered expression, Yi Bai was still trying to process what was happening.

But then, Shiel gave an unexpected response.

"Big Brother, are you asking about my age because… you want to court me?"

"No, not yet! But... if it's Big Brother, I might consider it..." Shiel hesitated, her voice trembling. "But no, no! Mommy said... but I really like playing with Big Brother..."

Yi Bai: "..."

He was at a loss for words. Had he really said something to make the little loli act this way?

As Shiel mumbled and flustered herself, Yi Bai had a sinking feeling. Could the mysterious lady in the mirror be watching all this?

"Shiel? Shiel?" He called out, his voice gentle but tentative. Thankfully, despite her flustered rambling, Shiel still paid attention to him.

She stopped her train of thought and spoke quietly, "I'm 312 years old. I may still be a little young, but if Big Brother really wants to pursue me, I'll consider giving you a chance."

Yi Bai: "…"

Yi Bai had no words. He felt his smile freeze a little. A "legal loli" indeed... but this was still too young for him to fathom! And yet, she was telling him that she might give him a chance!

He let out a silent sigh of relief. At least he wasn't teetering on the edge of something dangerous like a three-year sentence.

Still, Shiel's self-persuasion was a little too efficient... too convenient!

When she mentioned her age and offered him a chance, her affection had already reached "obsessed" levels. The surprise came so fast that Yi Bai hadn't even had time to react properly.

Meanwhile, in the Shadow City, in a secretive meeting room, several strange creatures sat around a long table. If Yi Bai were there, he would recognize two familiar faces—Count Rose and Jiang Ling, both present at this meeting.

At the far end of the table, a woman with skin as translucent as jade, radiating an eerie and alluring charm, elegantly applied makeup while gazing into a mirror. Her hair shimmered like light, sparkling like morning stars as it swayed with each movement. Her features were sharp yet held an extraordinary beauty.

This was the Mirror Lady, known for her power and mysterious aura. Even among the elite blood-clad spirits, she was one of the most formidable beings.

At this moment, she stared at her reflection in the mirror, her brow furrowed, eyes filled with uncertainty. For some unknown reason, she had been feeling inexplicably uneasy.
