Shifting Tides

The reality is… I've been sent here for a completely different purpose. I'm not just a refrigerator in a character's kitchen. I thought maybe I could breeze through this life like it was a silly dream, but it's become very real… almost more real than my past life.

I clearly have some sort of godlike ability like the characters in an anime, but I can't do anything if I'm just sitting here in this house forever. Being able to track chakra and monitor situations will only get me so far. If I can't figure out a way to move forward (literally), I'll doom this world to destruction and leave another life unfulfilled again. I've accomplished quite a lot from this little spot in the Leaf Village, but maybe… maybe it's time I branch out.

I'll start by harnessing all the chakra I can, charging up and directing the energy to my core chakra points. After that, I'll attempt to move. The Hyuga clan uses palm and rotation techniques to physically deflect attacks and knock back opponents. If I can create something similar, I should be able to finally start moving.

The chakra coursed through my body, an ever-growing pulse of rejuvenation with each passing second. I felt as though I could picture my old human body overflowing with energy.

My awareness began to expand across the village, slowly seeping outward throughout the rest of the Land of Fire. I could sense Naruto and his friend, Sasuke in a conflict. I could also feel the dark presence I felt earlier… whatever it was, it was as if it had a body of its own, and it was watching them.

The time finally came for me to test my hypothesis and unleash this new technique.

Firstly, I created a shadow clone, and had it bolt forward. Then, I managed to imbue the clone with a part of my soul, effectively splitting my consciousness into two separate beings. I'm not sure if Naruto knows this yet, but throughout my observations, I've learned that shadow clones can expedite processes for shinobi. If a shadow clone dies, all of its knowledge and experience returns to the original person. With this in mind, I know I'll be safe to experiment with this new ability to divide my consciousness across clones. Unfortunately, I will have to keep my original self in Naruto's home for now, but with my new technique, I won't have to rely on my shadow clone to do all the work, I can experience it myself.

I tinkered with my abilities and practiced my movement until I felt relatively comfortable. I decided on a method that allows me to levitate ever so slightly above the ground, utilizing the chakra around me and this stupidly high amount of power I've been granted… because apparently that's how being reborn in an anime universe works. Though, I can't complain, if I'm going to be overpowered, the least I can do is use that power for good.

Now, I've passed the first obstacle and I can finally traverse this world. I don't want to get my hopes up, but if I truly am so powerful, maybe this will be a breeze. I'll save this world in record time, and then I'll retire as a refrigerator in that Ichiraku Ramen shop, where I can eat to my heart's content for the rest of my days.

I looked back at my original refrigerator body one last time, and then headed out.

BANG!

"What the hell was that?!" a neighbour yelled.

Oh, right… I forgot, I'm a refrigerator, I can't be running out of the house like a human would.

On the bright side, I've probably just caused the smallest amount of property damage this village has ever seen.

I sneakily floated out of the area and headed toward Naruto's location, a place the locals have called: The Valley of the End.
