The battlefield lay in ruin, littered with the remains of 30,000 demons. Yaxoc wiped the blood off his hands, surveying the devastation.
"I guess that's all of them," Marcus muttered, exhaling sharply.
Yaxoc crossed his arms. "Doesn't it feel a little off? We just wiped out half the demons in this war."
"Yeah, but it was still a hell of a fight," Marcus admitted.
A hundred saviors emerged onto the battlefield, their expressions filled with shock at the sheer destruction.
Yaxoc narrowed his eyes. "What the hell are you guys doing here?"
"Mrs. Hight sent us to check if you two were alright!" one savior called out.
"Tell her we're fine," Marcus said flatly.
Before anyone could react, a blinding flash of steel tore through the air. A single, massive slash cleaved through every savior in an instant, their bodies crumbling like dust.
Marcus and Yaxoc stood frozen as the carnage unfolded.
"I recognize that move," Yaxoc muttered, stepping into a stance.
"You do?" Marcus asked, his body tensing.
A slow, deliberate clap echoed through the silence. From the shadows, a figure emerged with a twisted grin.
"Well, well... I didn't expect you to dodge my weakest attack," Ogamak sneered, his eyes glowing like embers.
Yaxoc groaned. "Oh, great. Not this guy again."
"The chase ends here, saviors," Ogamak said, his voice dripping with malice. "I'm going to kill you."
"Is that so?" Yaxoc smirked.
Ogamak lazily raised a single finger. In an instant, a hundred slashes tore through the air at incomprehensible speeds, ripping toward Yaxoc.
Before he could react, the slashes carved through him, sending him hurtling through buildings like a ragdoll.
Marcus' eyes widened. "What the hell was that...?"
"A mere fraction of my power," Ogamak said, smirking.
Marcus clenched his fists, stepping forward.
Ogamak tilted his head mockingly. "You're pathetic, you know that?"
A crackle of energy erupted behind him. Yaxoc had already teleported, his hand gripping Ogamak's shoulder like a vice.
"You think you can kill me?" Yaxoc growled. "Bring it on."
His fist crashed into Ogamak's face with a thunderous impact, slamming him into the ground. But before Yaxoc could follow up, an explosion detonated around them, hurling both him and Marcus backward.
As the dust settled, Ogamak emerged, pulling something from his coat—several long, severed tails.
Yaxoc's breath hitched. "No way…"
"Moonlight…" Marcus whispered.
Ogamak's smirk widened. "Let's see if their little awakening is worth anything."
Yaxoc's aura flared to life—a golden storm of energy crackling around him. Marcus' transparent aura surged, small pebbles floating around him as the air thickened with power.
Their rage had fully awakened them.
"That's it!" Yaxoc roared, his aura erupting.
"You're going straight to HELL!"
Marcus got into position, his aura burning like wildfire.
Ogamak chuckled, stepping into his own stance. "Let's see what you've got, saviors."
Yaxoc lunged forward, his fist a golden blur. Ogamak barely had time to react before the blow connected, forcing him to block. But Yaxoc didn't stop—he drove his knee into Ogamak's gut, then followed with a brutal punch to his jaw, launching him backward.
Ogamak skidded to a halt, his fingers brushing his bruised cheek.
"That actually… hurt," he murmured in disbelief.
Yaxoc didn't give him time to recover. He dashed forward, his foot slamming into Ogamak's chest in a devastating dropkick. Ogamak crashed into a nearby wall, debris collapsing around him.
"Damn that brat," Ogamak muttered, standing up.
Before he could regain his footing, Marcus teleported in front of him, driving a punch straight into his face. Ogamak stumbled back, only for Yaxoc to appear in a flash, delivering a rapid flurry of blows before sending him crashing into the dirt.
Ogamak spat blood, irritation flashing across his face.
"You're fast," he admitted.
A sudden flurry of razor leaves whirled toward him. Ogamak swiftly dodged, his instincts razor-sharp. But before he could fully evade, Marcus teleported behind the last leaf—his fist connecting with Ogamak's jaw in a well-timed strike.
Ogamak staggered, realization dawning.
"I see… So that's it." He flexed his fingers. "For the longest time, I never noticed—there's something interfering with the natural order. Saviors who lack angelic magic shouldn't be able to harm demons." His eyes narrowed. "Did that woman do something?"
Marcus raised an eyebrow. "You're just rambling now."
Ogamak sneered. "No… She must've worked with that damned Heraphiel. Created some kind of shard that disables our immunity."
"You're overthinking things," Marcus said bluntly.
Ogamak's smirk returned. "It doesn't matter."
Without warning, an onslaught of slashes erupted toward Yaxoc and Marcus. Yaxoc weaved through them, while Marcus conjured a thick plant barrier, absorbing the impact.
Ogamak teleported behind Marcus, blade in hand.
But Yaxoc was faster. In a flash of golden light, he struck with an Angelic Flash, sending Ogamak skidding across the ground.
Ogamak groaned, shaking his head. "That was an Angelic Flash… but without faith behind it."
Marcus dashed forward, his foot colliding with Ogamak's gut. Before Ogamak could react, Marcus grabbed his head, chanting:
"Plant Transfiguration."
Thin roots slithered from Marcus' fingertips, burrowing into Ogamak's nose. Ogamak's eyes widened in shock.
"Transfiguration?" he mumbled.
With a snarl, Ogamak kicked Marcus away, but the roots remained embedded.
"It's instant," he muttered, yanking one out.
"That doesn't stop me from killing you, savior," he said, an evil smirk forming. "You can't kill an immortal being."
He took a step forward. "But I can torture you."
Ogamak's aura swelled, dark energy twisting around him.
Yaxoc tensed. "What is he doing?"
"I don't know," Marcus said, watching carefully. "But I don't like it."
Ogamak raised his hand, chanting:
"Slash."
"Ultimatum."
"Darkness."
A dimensional rift opened, condensing into a massive, abyssal blade.
"Underworld Slash: 500%."
A cataclysmic slash tore through the battlefield, heading straight for them.
Marcus' heart pounded. "It's too fast!"
Without hesitation, he pushed Yaxoc away with a burst of air magic.
"Marcus—!" Yaxoc shouted.
"Don't worry about me!" Marcus grinned. "Just take that bastard down!"
Yaxoc's eyes widened in horror.
"I know I haven't done much to save you…" Marcus exhaled. "But this time… This time, I will."
The Underworld Slash struck.
A massive explosion erupted, engulfing Marcus in a storm of destruction.
Yaxoc was sent flying, barely
catching a glimpse of the devastation.
Ogamak lowered his hand, watching the smoke settle.
"I'll finish him off," he said coldly.
And with that, he vanished.
