Chapter 8: Brawl

Never say insulting things to a soldier. You don't understand their blood—Bessie Wolf, the former famous commander of the Federation.

...

Reno's rising body suddenly stopped, half-bent like a leopard ready to pounce.

He looked at Bo Ke coldly, his gaze not warm, but instead, with a hint of coldness.

Only those who knew Reno best knew that this was the moment when Reno was truly angry.

When he was angry, he did not turn himself into a roaring male lion, but a waiting poisonous snake, looking for an opportunity to deliver a fatal blow.

But before that, Renault still intended to give the other party a chance.

He said, 'Correct what you said and apologise to the Federation soldiers, and I can consider letting you go.'

'Apologise?' Bald Bo Ke laughed, 'Sorry, the last thing I know how to say is sorry!'

He found his own words amusing and laughed out loud.

His unrestrained laughter only intensified as he spoke louder, 'Listen up, you piece of trash. You Federation soldiers are a bunch of useless idiots, and you deserve to be slaughtered by the gods in battle!'

Reno's face gradually grew dark.

Just as he was about to strike, a burly figure suddenly rushed over from the side.

The black figure swept past Reno like a mountain and rushed to Bald Bo Ke's side.

The next moment, there was a loud crash as Poke's body was thrown like a toy, arcing through the air before crashing down on a table, spilling soup and breaking glasses.

Octavia whistled, 'The show's starting, get ready to settle the score.'

The four-handed Xintianvia had quickly made preparations to keep score, muttering, 'This is my favourite part, humans fighting each other.'

Reno, on the other hand, looked at the extra man next to him in surprise.

He was a man with a bushy beard and a worn chainmail shirt, looking as if he had stepped out of a world of ancient savagery. He was not tall, but unusually stocky, giving the first impression of solidity. When he stood there, he gave the impression of being unmovable.

Like a huge concrete pillar.

His nickname was Fortress.

'Stark!' Reyno was deeply surprised.

A simple smile appeared on the face of the man with the bushy beard: 'Hey, sir.'

Jeff Stark, a mech warrior on the Abrody, was one of Renault's direct subordinates and one of the few soldiers on the Abrody who had not been injured.

After leaving the Abrody, Renault had been forced to separate from his soldiers and had even lost contact with them for a time. He never expected to encounter Stark here.

'I never thought I'd see you here,' said Reno, giving Stark a shoulder tap.

While they were talking, Baldur Bork, helped up by his companions, got to his feet.

He charged Stark, snarling, and crashed into him.

Stark didn't budge.

He looked down at Bork, who was pushing against him as hard as he could to lift him off the ground, and grinned. "You're not going to budge me," he said.

He grabbed Bork's shoulders and gave him a shove, sending him flying again.

'Your strength seems to have increased again,' Renault praised. It was no easy feat to be able to withstand the full force of a giant's charge without moving an inch.

Stark touched his head innocently: "Maybe it's because I've been eating more recently. The food on Earth is good.'

Renault was about to say something else when he heard the cry of "Ow!' and Poke's companions had already pounced on him together.

Renault shook his head helplessly: 'It seems that you always have to fight before you can talk.'

He picked up a bottle of wine and smashed it over the head of the fastest guy. The bottle shattered, and bright red wine flowed down the guy's head. The guy's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed weakly to the ground.

'You're pretty strong too, sir,' Stark laughed.

'As you said, the food on Earth is very good,' Renault replied, shaking his wrist.

The thugs pounced angrily, and Renault and Stark exchanged glances before they laughed and charged at them.

One of the thugs lunged at Renault, who deftly sidestepped, then punched the thug in the stomach. While knocking the guy into a shrimp, he took another step back to avoid the hugging attack of another thug, then kicked the thug back, and then picked up a bottle of wine and smashed it.

As he watched the bottle smash into the other guy's head, Renaud sighed, 'Another bottle of wine money, damn it, Bixier.'

A little blue sprite flew over Renaud's head and yelled, 'Go Renaud!'

'Get lost!' An angry thug threw a bottle at Mi Li, who screamed in fear and quickly dodged.

The next moment, the thug had been knocked to the ground by a punch from Renault, who then stomped hard on his face. Renault said coldly, 'You shouldn't have hit a lady.'

With the combat skills he had learned at military school, Renault easily overpowered these opponents, who were not even the weakest of enemies.

Compared to Reno's technical skills, Stark was a rampaging heavy mech. He didn't bother to dodge attacks, but instead used his body to withstand them. When Boker's fist hit his face, Stark only tilted his face, then turned his head to smile at Boker.

This smile made Boker feel creepy.

Then he flew into the air for the third time.

Then the fourth, and fifth.

When he fell from the ceiling to the ground for the sixth time, the Black Rose Bar was already lying on the ground with a bunch of thugs, each of them groaning loudly.

Reno and Stark's strikes were well-placed and would not leave them disabled, but they definitely would not make them feel good.

'Well done, Stark,' Reno said, giving Stark a thumbs-up.

Stark looked around: "Looks like we're going to have to pay a lot of money, sir.'

'Don't worry, the loser pays according to the rules," Reno laughed.

He went over to Octavia's side: 'Two bottles of Amber Manor, the bill goes on Polk's head.'

The Black Rose gave him a deep look, took a long drag on her cigar and exhaled a smoke ring before slowly saying: "It seems you know the rules here very well.'

'I once had a fond memory related to this," Renault replied.

The bartender at Cintanavia handed Renault and Stark the drinks.

Taking the drink, Stark grinned: 'I like this.'

Renault looked around and said to Stark: "It seems that this is no longer a suitable place for conversation. Let's go outside and talk.'

'Yes, boss," Stark had already taken the lead and walked towards the door.

Just as he reached the door, Bald Boor, who was not far away, staggered to his feet. He looked at Stark menacingly and hissed in a hoarse voice, 'I haven't lost yet!'

The humiliation of defeat burned all his reason with rage. At that moment, Pork suddenly raised his mechanical prosthetic limb, and a cold, shining blade extended from it. He gathered all his strength and pounced on Stark. The blade gleamed coldly in the light.

'Stark, look out!' Renault shouted, charging at Pork and blasting him with a punch.

Stark realised something was wrong, but it was already too late for him to dodge. He could see the blade about to slice his throat when he heard a loud thud.

Boke's body flew up again, this time more fiercely than ever before. Boke's body crashed directly into the wall and fell heavily, and he would not be able to climb back up for a short period of time.

Things happened too quickly. The sneak attack had already been resolved before it even began. Everyone felt a flash in front of their eyes, and they didn't even have time to see what had happened. They only saw that Reno was standing behind Stark, slowly withdrawing his fist.

'Well done,' everyone applauded Reno together.

Stark rubbed the back of his head and laughed innocently, 'You saved me again, sir.'

Reynolds looked up, "I didn't touch him.'
