Scarlett came back that day looking a bit worse for wear.

There was still a bruise at the corner of her eye, which I guessed was from Faye.

Because a few days ago, I saw that Faye's face also had some marks.

I put the divorce papers on the coffee table.

"Just sign these, and you'll be free again."

Scarlett shot me a cold glare, then her expression chilled even further.

She picked up the agreement and flipped through a few pages.

"Garrison, if you think I'm walking away empty-handed, you're dreaming."

She tore the divorce papers in her hand to shreds.

"Divorce? Keep dreaming."

"I'm going to cling to you and make your life hell."

With that, she burst into laughter, cackling wildly and brazenly.

"It's fine. If you don't want a divorce, we won't get one."

I curved my lips into a smile and shook my head.

I picked up the cigarettes from the coffee table and put one in my mouth.

The lighter clicked a few times before I finally lit the cigarette.
