Nathan rushed out the door in a flurry, not even having time for breakfast.

He hastily told me, "I'm off to work," followed by the loud slam of the door.

He didn't even spare me a glance.

That's fine, at least it won't scare her.

It seems in her eyes, today is no different from any other day.

I've given myself a very long vacation.

My time is running out,

I don't want to waste any more of it on meaningless things.

I sat idly in the living room all afternoon,

Wanting to pick Nathan up from work.

Outside her office building, I saw Nathan wearing Caelan's coat, getting into his car.

Watching from afar, I oddly found myself blaming myself,

If I hadn't come to pick her up, would I have avoided seeing this scene?

Damn it all to hell!

A text from her popped up on my phone: [I'm not coming home for dinner tonight, sort yourself out.]

I clenched my fist tightly, looking at the bustling crowd around me, with nowhere to vent my frustration.
