Escape and Landing on the Island

The surrounding people were stunned into silence by the bloody and brutal scene before them, their breaths caught in their throats.

"After a swift and bloody massacre, no one aboard the ship dared approach Gavin, especially not with the Blood Dragon Guard by his side.

The silent red-eyed attendant, who had boarded the ship earlier, was the subject of much whispered mockery among the sailors, who joked behind his back, wondering if he was a mute fool.

However, at this moment, everyone avoided him, keeping their distance from this chilling red-eyed demon.

Without paying any attention to the captain Hassan, who was so terrified he seemed to have lost his senses, Gavin strode purposefully toward the ship's wheel on the second deck.

Upon seeing Gavin approach, the helmsman was filled with terror and immediately tried to flee, only to have Gavin grip his shoulder firmly. [P.s; A helmsman steers the ship using a wheel or handle.]

"Mind your Business. Steer the ship properly!" Gavin spoke calmly and decisively. At that moment, as the sky began to darken, he remained composed, surveying the situation.

The ship had already entered a narrow channel, a passageway that ran close to the cliffs of an island. The gap between them was less than a hundred meters, and it was rapidly closing.

Four ships were lined up in a vertical formation, sailing through this cramped waterway. At this moment, the only threat from the three pirate ships came from the ballista at the rear of the Golden Fleece.

Gavin's gaze was sharp as he quickly assessed the distance and noticed that the long ship had barely entered the firing range of the flame arrow.

His heartbeat quickened. Without hesitation, he swiftly drew his bow, focusing all his attention on finding the perfect moment.

He knew that he must first destroy the only weapon capable of threatening him—the ballista—and then, at the critical moment when the ship was closest to the cliffs, he would jump off the ship without hesitation to escape unharmed.

The coast drew closer and closer. Suddenly, a gentle slope appeared ahead, with numerous reefs rising above the sea surface between the channel and the coast.

The nearest rock to the channel was only about ten meters away. Gavin's mind raced, urgently searching for a solution. Soon, a spark of insight lit up his eyes, signaling that he had found his plan.

The Blood Dragon Guard, carrying his supplies, swiftly climbed the lookout pole. Meanwhile, Gavin steadied his bow and aimed at the ballista at the back of the ship.

A flaming arrow materialized out of thin air on his bowstring and was shot into the air with incredible speed, tearing through the sky.

"Boom!"

A tremendous explosion echoed, obliterating the entire ballista, while the two pirates standing guard nearby were not spared, being thrown into the sea by the powerful shockwave of the blast.

Without missing a beat, Gavin turned around and fired another flame arrow, which struck the thick lookout pole, snapping it in two. The top portion, along with the Blood Dragon Guard, fell toward the rocks below.

Just before hitting the surface of the sea, the Blood Dragon Guard leapt with precision, landing safely on one of the exposed rocks.

Gavin wasted no time and quickly followed, using the long pole as leverage to propel himself toward the rocks, successfully leaping onto one himself.

With the rocks now acting as stepping stones, they dashed toward the island with all their might.

The entire sequence of actions unfolded like a flash of lightning—swift and decisive. The crew aboard the Golden Fleece watched in wide-eyed disbelief, unable to react in time.

Although the pirate ships trailing behind noticed Gavin's escape, they were powerless to stop him, watching as Gavin disappeared into the distance.

In fact, the explosion moments earlier had left them too stunned to approach the ship's bow. In the end, Gavin reached the island without further incident, his escape barely a hair's breadth from danger.

Climbing up the gentle slope, Gavin looked down from his elevated position, eagerly waiting for the pirates to approach in their small boats to chase him.

However, as the four ships slowly sailed further away, turning and disappearing behind a cliff, Gavin's hopes were dashed. With no other option, he reluctantly turned away and made his way deeper into the island.

That night, in a wind-sheltered hollow, Gavin silently built a campfire. A sea fish sizzled as it roasted over the flames, with the crackling of the fire occasionally breaking the stillness. Gavin's thoughts flowed continuously, undisturbed.

The first phase of the plan had been a success, but the next steps were critical.

He pondered that it would be best to capture a few tongues. That way, the issues of puppets and information could be easily resolved, sparing him from the current situation where he was completely in the dark.

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the grass ahead, and the Blood Dragon Guard slowly emerged, his gaze fixed on Gavin. In that moment, Gavin understood immediately—the pirate's hideout was about an hour's journey from here.

The special telepathic connection with the Blood Dragon Guard was a unique ability that Gavin had only recently discovered by accident. It hadn't been listed on the panel, yet its practicality far exceeded his expectations.

Looking back, he recalled how, after creating the Blood Dragon Guard, he had kept him hidden and only used him as a laborer thereafter.

It wasn't until the battle aboard the ship that Gavin considered ordering him to attack. However, before the words could even leave his mouth, a fleeting thought was enough for the Blood Dragon Guard to act without hesitation, charging forward with swift precision.

After reaching the island, Gavin conducted a simple test and discovered that there was no need for speaking aloud.

As long as the Blood Dragon Guard was within thirty paces, he could receive Gavin's silent mental instructions with pinpoint accuracy.

Even at a greater distance, a simple exchange of glances was enough for the same effect.

Now that the position was confirmed, things became much simpler. Satisfied after a good meal, Gavin let out a hearty burp and decided to take a good rest.

After all, the pirates couldn't escape. Back on the sea, Gavin had been forced to flee, but now the situation had reversed. He was in the shadows, and the balance of power had shifted.

The next day, Gavin slowly awoke. The morning on the island was gentle and warm, with soft sunlight and a light breeze carrying the salty scent of the sea.

The breeze stirred the surrounding grasses, creating a faint rustling sound. Taking a deep breath, the fresh scent of the plants filled his lungs, refreshing and uplifting.

Gavin stood up, stretching lazily, his joints cracking with a series of pops. "Time to get to work," he muttered to himself, his eyes revealing a cold, murderous intent.

Meanwhile, in a wooden hut at the Shipbreaker bay...

"Firing an arrow made of fire with a bow? I believe you. Go ahead and draw!" The voice was calm, but beneath it lay an unfathomable cruelty.

"No, sir, I swear I'm not lying, I saw it with my own eyes... Ah... No... I didn't... Ahhh!" Before he could finish, the merciless whip struck like a venomous snake, whistling through the air as it landed blow after blow on his body.

Had Gavin been there, he would have surely recognized the one screaming in pain—the helmsman from the previous night.

Black Shark "Erl" paid no attention to the helmsman's screams, slowly walking out of the wooden house. A pirate with a scar on his face hurriedly followed behind. "Boss, do you think what he said was a lie?"

"It should be true. He doesn't seem to be lying," Black Shark "Erl" replied, without looking back, his gaze calmly fixed on the harbor. "We'll find out for sure soon."
