"And darling, I will be loving you
Till we're seventy"
-Thinking Out Loud By Ed Sheeran
Trevor's POV
"I wish I could work in the disco bar," Marcus, my co-worker murmurs with a deep sigh, "At least, I wouldn't have to see only men's faces throughout the day."
"Yeah, yeah. You wish!" August, another co-worker comments, "Do you even know they get paid less than us?"
"Do they?" Marcus asks, looking at me. I nod my head and reply, "That's the reason why we serve VIPs, not some rich bratty kids and their friends."
Marcus sighs and says, "Yeah, money is way more important than chicks."
"Wow, Marcus! You've finally grown up." We all stand straight in a line when we hear the voice of Ms. Alana Kelsey, our head manager.
Mr. Eric Evans and Ms. Alana Kelsey are business partners. Ms. Kelsey works as the head manager and handles everything in the bar. However, this is only a side gig for Mr. Evans. His main business is his family business. Even many people visit this bar just to meet him.
"Good evening, Ms. Alana!" We all say in unison. Ms. Alana doesn't want us to call with her surname as she thinks it seems like we are addressing her like her sister which she hates.
"Don't worry, I'm not here to take your classes. I'm just here to assign you some work. Trevor, come with me."
I blink my eyes in surprise, I wasn't expecting her to call me. August pushes me and asks me to follow her. I come into my sense and follow her behind. She walks into her office room and starts to rant while looking at the menu.
"Listen, we will be expecting a few important clients today and I want you to serve them. One of them is the daughter of-" She starts to tell me the name of the important people whom I have to serve so I take out my notepad and starts to write down the details. It's very important be careful while serving the VIP clients as they get easily offended. It's not easy job to please the clients, especially if they VIP, they think they are above everyone.
Ms. Alana gives me some instructions to follow while serving the clients. I nod my head and write down the things that is important to remember. Suddenly someone knocks on the door, Ms. Alana sighs in frustration. They must be very important clients, otherwise Ms. Alana wouldn't be so stressed about serving them. She even bought me here to discuss before their arrival.
"Come in." Marcus walks in, his eyes are sparkling with amusement and excitement, "Trevor, a beautiful girl is asking for you."
I look at him with a confused face, "A beautiful girl- who?"
"I don't know. I forget to ask her name," I roll my eyes at his stupidity. He came here to inform me but didn't even ask her name. Is he an idiot?
"But she's the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She would even stand out in the crowd because of ginger hair." The mention of ginger hair catches my attention that I almost forget to breath. I don't know if I am thinking about the right person or not, but I shouldn't get my hopes high. She hadn't contacted in last ten years then why would she come here for me out of nowhere? We are nothing more than strangers now.
"Ah, I even noticed she has a mole under lips," As soon as I hear his words, I run out of the room without wasting a second. My heart is beating so fast, I feel like I am going to have an attack. But if it's her then for once, I want to see her. Only for once, just give me a chance to see her.
[FLASHBACK]
I was lying on Mia's lap; her face was buried inside the book which she borrowed this week from the library. While she was holding it with one of her hands, her other hand casually running through my hair. She wouldn't look at me but she would keep caressing my hair.
I love the way her hand runs through my hair; it makes me feel loved. But I want all her attention. Am I greedy? Probably, yes! But who cares?
She's my girlfriend and I'm her one and only boyfriend. So, she needs to give me more of her time, not to the books. I think of a plan to divert her attention from books to me. There is a way to make her look at me.
I slowly turned my head in the direction of her stomach and started to nuzzle my nose into her stomach. At first, she giggled without saying anything. But when she couldn't handle it anymore, she put her book from her face and looked at me.
"What are you doing?" She asked, trying to control her giggling.
"Trying to gain your attention," I said, plucking out the book out of her hand.
"Aren't you getting enough attention?" She asked, raising her eyebrows at me.
"Nope," I muttered, "I need more. I also need kisses."
"You need kisses?"
"A lot of kisses. Gimme!"
She laughed and pecked my lips, "Is that enough?"
"Nope, I need more. A lot more!"
I got up from her lap and pulled her into mine, "Now, what are you doing?"
"Teaching you how to kiss," I whispered into her lips before kissing her.
[FLASHBACK ENDS]
My breath stops as I see her standing right in front of me. She looks exactly like before except she looks way more beautiful now. The mature look on her face makes her like a proper grown woman. She no longer looks like the girl I knew in my teenage days. I smile bitterly knowing it's the first time I have seen her years. So, of course she has changed and I did also.
We are no longer the kids who used to play together. We are no longer who were in love and wanted to spend their whole life together. It's bitter but it's the reality of us.
