After eating, the group was fully energized and got ready to continue the journey. This time, Selina had her ass down on the comfy, luxurious, carriage seat! Suck it Troye. Speaking of Troye, he disgustingly enough, looked pretty gallant while on his horse despite fuming on the inside.
"Sooo Amelia, how does it feel?" Noah casually asks.
"Great, perfect, comfortable. Never turning back, my behind has never felt better."
"Pfft, you were really suffering with Reinhart out there."
"It should be commander to you, only I can call Reinhart by her name~" Selina crosses her arms, a prideful look on her face.
"Uh huh, just you and Troye."
"Ew. I take it back, I don't want to share anything with Troye, not even my last name!" Selina shoots Noah a hateful look.
The brown pup on Selina's lap lets out an annoyed growl from their loudness.
"Sorry buddy." Selina immediately softens her voice.
"You got attached really quick." Noah observed.
"It's so cute, can you blame me?"
"..Yeah and I will."
"Whatever. Yawn, I feel pretty tired, I'm going to take a quick nap." Selina tries to stretch, but the carriage isn't long like that, and she ultimately bumps her hand on top.
"Have a nice nap then."
"Will do~" Selina closes her eyes and instantly drifts off to sleep. Not only did she wake up extremely early, she had also spent the whole morning running around, a rest was very much deserved.
…
The prince observed the pretty lady sleeping. Her quiet breathing and relaxed demeanor.
He sighed, leaning his elbow against the window. "Don't trust me too much," he murmured. With a fluid motion, he placed a hand beside her head, preventing it from knocking against the hard surface of the carriage.
He uses his free arm to pick up the dog and aggressively shake it.
"Cut the shit." His voice was quiet to not wake up Selina, but he was pissed off.
The dog answers in barks much to Noah's dismay. He places it on the empty seat in the carriage next to him. The space in the carriage grew more cramped as the tiny dog stretched, distorted, and morphed, fur retracting, limbs elongating, bones shifting until in its place sat a fully grown, very naked man. The bandages that were previously tied fell to the ground.
Noah throws his coat at the man, an action he was very familiar with.
"Wear it."
The man slips on the coat.
Noah narrowed his eyes. "You looked ridiculous. What gave you the right to cuddle up against Amelia?"
The man stretched, popping his neck, then grinned, revealing sharp canines. "Hey, a dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do. You think I'd want anyone to see me in that form? It's disgraceful. I'm not a little puppy, I'm a strong wolf!"
"Lower your voice. You're so lucky Troye didn't recognize you. You would've gotten thrown out, I doubt even my authority could stop him from killing you." Noah shakes his head.
"Allister, I allowed you to scout the premises because I had trust in your abilities. Now look at you, if it wasn't for Amelia, you would've died." Noah continues on, his voice was calm and mature.
"..I know I messed up, honestly, I should've died. I didn't escape without help…"
"What do you mean help?"
"The masked figure…he caught me and let me go. I was being mauled by those demonic monsters, barely holding my own. I knew I wouldn't make it out of alive, I was already making prayers to god to protect Nora. As I dropped down on the floor, the creatures stopped attacking, instead, they made way for a mysterious figure. With one word of his, the monsters left and he teleported me to some random place without demons. I then crawled as far as I could and luckily ended up near your camp." Allister explains.
"What luck or do you think it was planned?" Noah questions
"How could it be planned? That would mean that the figure knew you guys were already making way, which is terrible news."
"Let's just…hope for the best."
"Oh and wait, the figure is a man?" Noah asks.
"I think so. Although shorter than me, his height was taller than most woman and I only caught like one sentence, but his voice sounded like a guy as well. He had a lean body and didn't seem to have any…womanly parts. To be fair though, he was wearing a fairly large cloak which hid most of his body, but I'm sure he was a man. I just have a strong gut feeling and you know a beastman's instinct is never wrong.
"...got it, but I'll still say we don't know for sure. As for now, revert back to puppy mode, we can't let anyone catch wind of your existence, especially Troye. Moreover, from now, you'll be staying with me and not Amelia. What would Nora think if she knew her big brother was a creep?" Noah doesn't hide the disdain for Allister in his voice.
"I'm not a creep! I didn't even do anything." Allister grumbles.
"Save it for the guards."
"And for your information, Nora would be glad if I got closer with Lady Amelia, she quite likes her."
"What?" Noah gives Allister a confused look.
"Nora accidentally came across Lady Amelia and that bodyguard of hers a bit ago. How do you think she knows about the attack? Do you really think that son of a bitch, Troye, would tell her?"
"You're explaining every detail to me, right now" A shiver goes down Allister's spine as he quickly explains his prior meeting with Amelia. (Page 20-23)
