Chapter 17: Bow vs Sword

The tension in the air was almost visible. Both teams knew this match would decide the outcome of the battle, and no one could afford to lose focus. For the Platinum Edge team, Raedon confidently sent Quenlor to the arena. Meanwhile, the Rising Heroes placed their hope on Lila, who was warming up with a determined expression.

Lila, with her sleek one-handed blade and fiery spirit, was ready to give it her all. She was skilled in swordsmanship and had mastered the unique ability to infuse her sword with fire and water elements. Fire gave her aggressive and powerful strikes, while water allowed her to defend herself or cool down her enemies when needed. Despite her skill and resourcefulness, Lila was aware of the challenge ahead.

On the other side, Quenlor, the elf marksman, stood calm and composed. His sharp blue eye locked on his opponent, while the patch over his left eye hiding it, giving him a mysterious vibe. He wielded a master-crafted bow, capable of firing water-infused arrows with deadly precision. Quenlor was a fighter of logic and control, never letting emotions sway his actions. His calm demeanor and confidence made it clear he wasn't someone to underestimate.

---

The field buzzed with excitement as the match began. Lila knew the key to victory was closing the distance between her and Quenlor as quickly as possible. If she could get close enough, her sword would have the upper hand against his bow. Quenlor, however, was determined to keep her at bay. As soon as the match started, Quenlor nocked an arrow and fired with practiced ease. His arrows flew fast and accurately, forcing Lila to stay on the move. She zigzagged across the battlefield, dodging his attacks while looking for an opening to get closer.

But Quenlor wasn't just firing normal arrows. He infused them with water magic, making them more powerful. The arrows began to leave trails of water behind them, and when they struck the ground, they splashed with enough force to knock Lila off balance. She was forced to retreat slightly, realizing that her current approach wasn't working. Determined not to give up, Lila adjusted her strategy. She summoned small fireballs, using them as both a shield and a means of counterattack. The fireballs intercepted Quenlor's arrows, evaporating them out before they could reach her. For a moment, it seemed like the tide was turning in her favor. However, maintaining the fireballs while dodging and closing the distance was draining Lila's energy. She gritted her teeth, pushing through the exhaustion as she pressed forward. Quenlor, on the other hand, still appeared calm and collected. He hadn't moved from his spot since the match began, firing arrows with the precision of a machine.

Quenlor noticed Lila's strategy and decided to step up his game. He infused more water magic into his arrows, making them stronger and faster. When they struck her fireballs, they extinguished them effortlessly. One arrow even managed to graze Lila's shoulder, making her wince in pain. Realizing her fireballs were no longer enough, Lila retreated again, trying to come up with another plan. She watched Quenlor closely, searching for any weakness. But his calmness and precision made it clear that he wasn't struggling at all. It was like he was in complete control of the battlefield. Lila felt the pressure mounting. She knew she couldn't afford to hesitate any longer. Taking a deep breath, she decided to go all out. She summoned a water shield in front of her to block Quenlor's arrows, while also creating larger fireballs to attack him. With both offensive and defensive measures in place, she charged forward at full speed.

Quenlor's arrows struck the water shield, creating splashes and cracks, but Lila pushed through. Her larger fireballs flew toward him, forcing him to focus on dodging instead of attacking. For the first time, Quenlor moved from his position, stepping to the side to avoid the flames. Lila closed the distance rapidly, her sword ready to strike. She swung her blade with precision, aiming for Quenlor's chest. But Quenlor was faster than she expected. He dodged the attack with a swift step back, his movements smooth and calculated. Not being discouraged, Lila pressed on, swinging her sword again and again. Quenlor continued to evade her strikes, barely breaking a sweat. Then, in a surprising move, he leaped high into the air, flipping gracefully as he aimed his bow downward. Before Lila could react, Quenlor summoned a massive arrow made entirely of water magic. It shimmered with power, glowing with an intensity that made the everyone gasp. With a sharp release, he fired the arrow straight at Lila.

The arrow struck with incredible force, creating a powerful splash that sent Lila flying backward. She landed hard on the ground, her sword falling from her hand. The water soaked her completely, leaving her stunned and unable to continue. Quenlor was declared as the winner, and the Platinum Edge erupted in cheers. Quenlor lowered his bow and finally showed signs of exhaustion. Summoning and firing the massive water arrow had taken a lot out of him, but he had emerged victorious.

Lila sat on the ground, catching her breath as she processed her defeat. She had given it her all, but Quenlor's skill and composure were on a different level. She felt a sense of disappointment and guilt as she looked toward her team. Lila realized she still had much to learn and improve. She resolved to train harder and become stronger, determined not to let her team down again. "I'm sorry," she said quietly, her voice trembling. "I let you all down." "I am sorry Drakar". Drakar, approached her with a neutral expression. For a moment, Lila thought he might be angry, but instead, he just didn't any anything.,

Drakar said this looking at the centre of the ground "I guess this was inevitable." As Drakar turned away, Raedon stepped into the arena, a confident smile on his face. The final showdown was about to begin. Both of them walked toward the center of the battlefield, their presence commanding attention.

This was it, the final battle that would determine the victor between the The Rising Heroes and Platinum Edge. Lila watched from the sidelines, her heart heavy but her determination renewed. She knew her journey wasn't over. She would rise again, stronger than before. For now, all she could do was support her team and hope for their victory. The final battle was about to begin, and the outcome would be anything but predictable.
