Chapter 12: Delete the message

Her friends tried to pull her out of her grief. They invited her to dinners, to parties, to anything that might distract her. But every room felt suffocating, every laugh felt forced.

"You need to move on," one friend said gently. "He's not coming back."

Diane forced a smile, but inside, she wanted to scream. It wasn't about him coming back. It was about the fact that he had left such a deep mark on her that she didn't know who she was without him.
