The moment I woke up I was forced into agony,
Broken bones in my skull and the flesh with bits of the floor stuck on screamed in pain.
But a hand reached out and shut me up,
He then slowly whispered with a certain weakness to his tone.
"So..you too huh?"
Oh it's that human brat.
Damn useless too and I thought he would be useful considering how he dealt with the terror camels.
I didn't voice out what was going inside my mind though, who knows when he will snap and eat me alive.
I couldn't speak, luckily the bleeding has stopped somehow and some strength is being regained by my body.
Drip, drip.
A red liquid dripped onto my face, cold yet the moment it made contact it bursted into the warmness of spring and slowly the pain quieted down.
'Oh!? He decided to admit it.'
I knew about the kid's regeneration and I certainly was going to use to earn some bucks but guess what? Now I'm stuck in this hellhole with him.
'It can others too huh.'
Could really fetch a bit of money or...he can be my personal healer.
'He got here earlier than me and he still hadn't escaped so something's wrong.'
The darkness filled my vision and the smell of gore and puke assaulted my already destroyed nose.
My head was on the kid's lap and my body layed on some squishy surface, it felt cold and a pulsating sensation could be felt on my back.
His thighs felt a skinny and bone made my head uncomfortable but I couldn't stand up due to my injury.
'Seriously why did I trust that elf with the job as a scout?'
"The undead must've gotten you too right?"
He spoke again with a hint of drowsiness,
His hand collapsed onto my chest and judging by that I guess he fell asleep.
My injuries squirmed and skin, flesh and bone healed and reconnected, it didn't hurt it just felt weird.
I slowly rose from his lap, my hands gripping my forehead in phantom pain, those red ruby eyes cleared hinted at an undead and I missed the chance to kill it.
A blunder from my part but what can I do when everyone else is incompetent.
If it weren't for the promise of riches I wouldn't have came down here anyways and judging by that elf's strength he must be out there surviving.
I sighed, complaining isn't going to solve the problem by itself.
My gauntlets were stolen, my armor is broken and no food rations too.
Sustaining himself would be hard.
'All I have left is...'
He turned back towards the place he laid at, his focus was not on the fleshy ground but on the living breathing human that was laying there unconscious.
He knew not to eat the pulsating flesh, it was common sense.
And he has regeneration so, a bite won't be too much to ask right?
Elgor ripped out some clothes from his dress,
The human was extremely weak and it was enough to hold him captive.
An infinite food source indeed.
********
Callon stared at the undead infront of him.
As you would have guessed, it was the guardian who hunted down both Elgor and Cassian.
He towered over Callon while a battle axe was raised to the air, bringing it down with immense force towards Callon's skull.
Unlike the previous victims Callon was experienced, he swatted the axe away with a short sword and charged in.
The swat made the guardian wide open and his long arms won't reach in time when Callon neared his ribs.
He aimed precisely and aimed it at the red Ruby eyes, it would get the job.
Only if the guardian was alone, something latched onto the sword, a slippery flesh wrapped around his leg too.
It was dripping with blood and countless eyes, tongues, noses, and ears opened up and they seemed too grotesque.
The guardian immediately pulled back and got back into a fighting stance.
The eyes stared, the ears listened, the noses smell, the tongues tasted and they all wanted Callon.
In the midst of this bizzare event, Callon retreated, he ran past the guardian to where he came from, trying to escape the tentacles filled with facial features while also on the lookout for captives.
But he came to an halt when he witnessed something upfront.
The scene of a dwarf feasting on human meat.
The mean laid unconscious on the ground with his stomach torn open, his intestines spilling and blood gushing out.
The dwarf picked up the intestine and placed it on his mouth and started devouring.
And that's when Callon noticed that his surroundings have changed, right he was in a huge fleshy room, it was a dome even the floor was spherical.
Small red dim glow light from the flesh made this scene more horrifying.
That's when Callon noticed that they seemed to have aged, really fast.
The fat and grumpy old dwarf turned into a malnutritioned human child whereas the actual was regenerating.
Callon naturally about this fact when he saw it in action but it still fascinated him.
"O, Elf, do you see your companion feasting on that human?"
A deep raspy voice similar to the howling wind sounded from behind me and I immediately turned back and to my suprise instead of sneaking up on me he was quite far away.
He slowly walked towards me.
"The time inside the well is accelerated, time eventually erases everything."
"That dwarf is disappearing quickly, which shows that he would be a forgotten nobody whereas the human is still there."
"Although it is not the best conditions, he is lucky to be alive."
"The flesh makes someone who eat it feel hunger on a spiritual level, our queen used it as her favourite torture method and I now know why she liked it."
"If someone is exposed to even it's smell for a long time it makes them go crazy, it is quite similar to insania and they are forced to eat the flesh which further deepens it."
The undead chuckled, he was certainly enjoying it.
The axe was still with him, he held it both hands and charged towards Callon with no further exchange of words.
********
It hurts.
My stomach hurts.
My intestines were pulled out mercilessly and my liver has long been missing, my eyes darted towards the culprit and a dwarf with eyes on the brink of insanity and a blooded mouth stared at me in shock.
He slapped me across the face.
His pupils trembling as he spoke.
"Y-you are not supposed to alive...WHY!?"
He raised both his arms and started to punt my face, it was wierd, just a moment ago we were allies and now we are enemies.
I threw a punch but instead of hitting him, I grabbed his face and shoved it into ground and got up with pain.
My small intestine hanged onto the ground, the tip being agressively bitten onto by the dwarf.
It hurts.
I kneeled down and held onto his head and the edge, with gritted teeth I pulled the intestines free although the bitten part was ripped away was still on his mouth.
My teeth hurts from gritting them but I had to choice to hurry up when I heard Callon fighting in the distance.
Due to the red glow from the flesh it was easier to see.
I ran towards them when my regeneration was almost complete, no weapons equipped but hands and jaws are enough.
Would biting a skeleton work though?
I saw the undead raising his axe into the sky,
Callon's short was inching towards his eyes.
Even if Callon makes contact, the undead only loses one eye but Callon would die.
And even if he doesn't he still dies.
Just when the skeleton was about to bring the axe down from the air I jumped onto his back.
With the sudden weight from a malnutritioned man, the undead jerked forward and the blow missed while a eye was taken out.
I put its skull on a head lock and wrapped my legs around it's ribs.
I tried to break it's joints but it proved futile and Callon immediately pierced the short sword through the gap in it's knees and pried it open.
It fell on his knees and we striked before he got up.
My fingers tried to reach his remaining eye while the short sword aimed for the same target.
What if the sword pierced my fingers together with the eye?
It will regenerate and I have no time to think about things like that now.
My adrenaline and regeneration is somehow keeping me conscious and alive so, I don't want to overload my brain functions.
And we killed the guardian...
Almost.
Callon and I could've made it work if not for the horde of undead emerging from the flesh.
