Back To Normalcy

Odessa stepped into the lecture hall, the familiar sights and sounds enveloping her like a warm hug. She had arrived back in California the night before eager to escape the toxic atmosphere back home.

As she slid into her seat, her best friend turned to her with a wide smile

"Hey girl, welcome back, how was your trip"

Odessa hesitated unsure how much to reveal

"It was eventful" she said trying to brush off the longer I emotions

Astrid eyes sparkled with curiosity

"Eventful you say, come Dessa, spill the tea"

Odessa leaned in and said

"There is really nothing to spill, let's just say I had a great time and George Anderson is a really nice person and if I'm lucky enough I might have a chance to work in his company"

Astrid squealed in excitement

"That's great news Dessa, I'm so happy for you"

"Thank you" Odessa said and turned to the teacher who had just made his way into the class

As the teacher began the lesson, Odessa felt a sense of normalcy wash over her. She was determined to put the drama of her family life behind her and focus on her future. But as she glanced around the classroom, her mind began to wander, she couldn't shake the feeling that her parents secret were far from buried and that her own life was about to take a dramatic turn

Zaynix leaned back in his chair steepling his fingers together as he listened to Julian's question

"So how's everything going on" Julian asked his eyes locked on Zaynix face

"The two things you are working on I mean" Julian added

Zaynix expression turned enigmatic

"They are progressing, the shipment is safe and the Morano gang is no longer a problem"

"And what about Liana, are you sure she is safe" Julian asked

Zaynix eyes fickered, a hint of irritation in them

"I told you Julian, they won't dare touch her, not after what happened to the Toretti mafia gang years ago"

Julian voice took a note of concern

"But are you sure, you are playing with fire here Zayn. The Morano gan mg was just a small part of a much larger organization, if they find out what you are doing....."

Zaynix smile was cold as he said

"I've taken care of it, I've made sure everyone know not to cross me, I own one of the most deadliest mafia organization, Dark Empire, I am known and respected in the underworld by all, I am known as the Emperor of the Underworld, who do you think would dare cross me"

Zaynix expression turned serious

"I have a business trip to attend in California, I'll be gone for a few days"

Julian's face turned thoughtful

"Ok, I'll take care of everything, be careful, we both know you are playing a dangerous game"

Zaynix smile was confident as he said

"I always am, and since when did you become like this, I've always known you to be fearless"

"I'm just worried about Liana, not too long ago, she almost lost her life, I take her as a sister" Julian said with worry

"There's no need to be worried about anything" Zaynix said reassuringly

"By the way, here's the information on the lady who saved Liana, Lucas gave it to me not too long ago" Julian said handing him a file

Zaynix took and and examined it with a stoic expression

"Odessa Ross, so this is Raymond's daughter, the game just became more interesting, I've got to admit she is quite a beauty" Zaynix murmured to himself

Hazel's gaze drifted out the window, her mind wandering to the past. Her best friend, Astrid, was in London, visiting her family, and Odessa couldn't help but feel a pang of loneliness.

As she sat in class, her thoughts began to unravel, transporting her back to a time when life was simpler, yet more complicated. A time when she and her twin sister, Ondine were inseparable.

It had been years since the incident, but the memory still lingered, a constant reminder of the rift that had formed between them. Odessa's parents had sat them down, their faces stern and worried, as they tried to make sense of what had happened.

Ondine had always been the rebellious one, pushing boundaries and testing limits. Odessa, on the other hand, was the responsible twin, always trying to do the right thing. But on that fateful day, something had gone terribly wrong.

Odessa mind flashed back to the argument they'd had, the one that had escalated into something more. Heather had been furious,

but Odessa being the calm one decided to go and apologize to Ondine, she looked for her everywhere but didn't see her, there was only only room left for her to check and when she opened the door to that room she was dumbfounded by what she saw, blood everywhere, she screamed and Ondine ran out pushing Odessa inside, their parents came and was shocked with what they saw

Odessa's parents had believed Ondine, and Odes had been left to shoulder the blame. The incident had created a rift between the twins, one that can never be healed

As Hazel sat in class, her mind replayed the events of that day, the weight of deceit and betrayal still lingering. She wondered what would have happened if Heather had told the truth, if their parents had believed her instead. Would things have been different between them? Would they still be close?

The questions swirled in Hazel's mind, a constant reminder of the past and the secrets that still lingered between her and her twin sister.

Hazel walked out of the school building, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions. She knew she had to do something, but she didn't know where to start. As she walked home, she felt like she was walking into a dark and uncertain future, one that was filled with secrets and lies. Maybe all hope was lost, she thought, it was all in the past now.
