Ace's POV
Steam curled from the shower, clinging to the air like a ghost. I wrapped a towel around my waist, and the damp fabric cooled against my skin. Stepping out of the bathroom, I headed towards our shared belongings. My clothes were neatly folded inside my bag, the others already worn. I picked up a shirt, inhaling the fresh scent of laundry detergent. Ovelia and Ann must have done the washing.
Once dressed, I spotted Pati, his small cage nestled in a corner. I hadn't fed him yet. Reaching for her food pouch, I opened the cage door. Pati scurried out, his tiny sharp claws padding towards me with a hungry chirp. "Hey there, Pati," I said softly, placing the food in front of him. As he eagerly began to munch, I couldn't shake the nagging thought of Kala. It felt like an eternity since she had left to deliver the letter to my father, and when she came back, I doubted it would reach Thunoa Village in time.
