Ovelia's POV
A suffocating wave of anxiety crashed over me, a cold dread clenching my chest. The knowledge that Ace, Ray, and Philip were riding into danger, facing a band of ruthless bandits, sent a spike of icy fear through my veins. The desperate need to speak to Ace before they left, to whisper a prayer for their safe return, clawed at me. I stumbled out of the house, my breath catching in my throat, the evening air suddenly chilling against my skin. There he was—Ace, bathed in the soft, deceptive glow of twilight, his eyes widening in surprise as he saw me.
"Ovelia, is something wrong?" Ace asked, his voice tinged with concern, his brows furrowing as he took a step closer.
