{ Let me start with a warning, this story will take place in an altered Dragon Ball reality, I will do it mainly because I don't really like Dragon Ball Super, but also so I don't get stuck in the original. So if you find anything that isn't "correct" just assume I wanted to change it.
I also want to make it clear that I have no grandiose pretensions, this is just a fanfic, so don't take any of this too seriously }

Seth Cohen, an 18-year-old orphan, never got to know his parents and lived his entire life in the house of his grandmother, an old and bitter woman who never treated him with affection.
His life was not the worst of all, but it was short, as on the way to his first day at college, an accident took his life.
If it had been a truck, perhaps he would have stopped in a fantasy world, where there would be magic and a demon lord for him to kill, but what took his life was a bus, one full of stressed people, wanting to get to work quickly.
Seth's death was something that brought problems to many people, who cursed him for dying, it would be comical if it weren't tragic.
...
Seth's eyes blinked, he looked at his hands with a confused look, then began to touch his own body.
"Didn't I get hit by that shitty bus? Why don't I have any injuries?" He was confused, not noticing any minor injuries.
He had felt the pain of the impact, he knew he had been thrown to the ground, he knew that it would have at least broken some of his ribs and would have hurt him more because of the fall, but there was nothing wrong with his body.
He then looked at his surroundings "This doesn't look like a hospital, much less my home" All he could see was a small room, but it was very different from his or any he had ever entered.
The walls seemed to be made of wood, as was the floor, it was very simple and cozy. In one corner there was a table and chair, similar to a study area and on the wall next to it there was a large bookshelf, full of colorful books.
Seth noticed that there were several types of books, some mangas, novels and even classic books. He couldn't notice it and didn't really try, but there were only entertainment books on that shelf, no books that carried raw knowledge and teachings, just books to entertain.
On the other side of the room, parallel to the table and chair, there was a sliding door, which as soon as Seth laid eyes on it, it opened.
He was taken by surprise when a woman appeared, entering that small room, making a slight creaking sound as she stepped inside the room.
The woman with long white hair had light but clear dark makeup on her face, making her look more seductive and gothic.
While Seth was still surprised, she closed the door behind her and said "You're here sooner than I expected, I think you'll have a good head start" She gave him a weak but honest smile.
Seth was confused by those words "Did I arrive earlier than expected? I don't even know what place this is"
'I hit my head and lost some memories? What the hell, I have no idea how I got here, and I don't even know who this woman is, but she talks like it was planned' He was quite confused, trying to understand the situation.
The white-haired woman approached him and said "I know death can be scary, but you've been given a great opportunity, so don't look like that"
"Death?! I died?" He asks, as he slowly thinks 'If I really was hit by that bus, then...'
"Yes" She said, still smiling "A less than honorable death, but it wasn't something shameful either, so don't think too much about it"
Going to the table, the woman sat down on the chair and picked up some papers that were there and began to read "As I thought, for having an untimely death, your karma is very good..."
Seth was still confused and hearing about his karma left him with more doubts "How could an early death mean good karma? And what good does it do me if I'm already dead? Will I be sent to heaven for having good karma?"
The woman's eyes scan the papers in her hands, then she turns to him and says, "You don't qualify for heaven. Don't get me wrong, it's not that you're evil or anything, but to go to heaven, you would have to be a saint. Humans think that doing good deeds is sometimes enough, but the truth is that heaven is the ultimate prize for those who are the pinnacle of goodness."
She looked deep into his eyes and said "Your karma is good, but it's not nearly enough to be considered a saint. But don't worry, the fact that you came here is enough to celebrate, after all, only those with reasonable karma have the chance to reincarnate"
"Reincarnate?!" Seth was surprised.
"Exactly" The woman said, standing up from her chair, then pointing to the bookshelf she said "Well, your karma is high enough for some benefits, so you can start by choosing a new world"
It took the young man a moment to understand what that meant, then he asked "I'm going to any world in those books?!"
The white-haired woman nodded slowly "These are the worlds I take care of, you can choose any of them. You probably know a few of them"
Seth was excited, there was no way he couldn't be, after all he would not only have another chance to live, but he could go to a fantasy world.
He didn't hesitate to approach the bookshelf and started looking at each one of them, at least he made sure to look at the cover.
The woman didn't bother him, letting him look at each book on her shelf before he decided.
Seth recognized some books, mostly mangas, but two in particular caught his attention, because besides knowing the stories, he also found the idea of being in those worlds incredible, because of everything he could do in them.
One of them was Naruto and the other was Dragon Ball. He had watched both animes, so he knew well what those worlds were like.
He thought for long minutes, weighing everything up, wondering which one he would rather live in, and finally, he said "I'll go to the world of Dragon Ball"
Both worlds were amazing, but Dragon Ball was simpler, maybe other people saw this as a problem, but not for Seth. The idea of being able to do basically anything with Ki and evolve just by training enough, made him very excited.
The woman nodded and said "Like the protagonist or a new character?"
Seth was surprised by the question "I can take Goku's place?! If I choose that, will I be a Saiyan?"
"Yes, you will have Goku's body for yourself and since your karma is high, you can choose to change your appearance" She replied.
Very excited, Seth said "Then I'll take the protagonist's place and the appearance can keep mine, maybe just make me a little more handsome"
"Alright, I'll do it for you. Now, since your karma is high, I can let you ask for something extra before I send you there, it could be a skill, maybe some object, it doesn't matter if it's from Dragon Ball or another universe, or even something that came from your head, just know that it will be limited to your karma" The white-haired woman said.
Seth became thoughtful and agitated, his foot began to tap against the floor, while he placed his hand on his chin.
'I'm going to be a Saiyan, so I already have the transformations and Zenkai... It would be nice to have an ability to heal myself or maybe the ability to survive in space, just in case I end up destroying the planet during a fight...' He thought for a long time.
Because of the woman's words, he didn't even think about very incredible abilities, after all, his karma would limit them and perhaps asking for an incredible ability would be a shot in the foot. Regarding objects, there were some interesting ones, but in the end, it was better for him to focus on himself, after all, with too much strength, everything else would become practically useless.
It took him long minutes to remember a series he was about to watch, one that his death prevented him from, but he knew some details because of videos he watched randomly.
Then he asked "Besides being a Saiyan, could I be a Viltrumite?"
The race that was somewhat familiar with the Saiyan, with great vitality, good regeneration, the ability to survive in space for a long time, in addition to all the strength and speed.
He hadn't even thought about it, but there was another point he would really like to have, the longevity of the Viltrumites.
Of course, this kind of thing could be achieved with a request for the dragon balls, but it was still something amazing.
"A Viltrumite? It seems like you chose something that gives you several advantages, rather than just one, but that's fine. Like I said, your karma will limit that, but I'll also do you the favor of eliminating the weaknesses that would come with it and I'll also give you this little gift" She then snaps her fingers.
When Seth hears the popping sound, something appears in his vision, in the upper left corner of his field of vision.
||Power Level: ???||
"When you're there, you'll always be able to see your own current Power Level, so you can better track your own evolution. You won't be able to see other people's power, so it won't give you an advantage in battle" She explained.
Seth smiled excitedly "That's already great, thanks!"
"Since you will be taking Goku's place, you will have his memories and will be on Mount Paozu. Your Viltrumite bloodline comes from me, so Bardock and Gine will continue to be pure Saiyan, only their descendants will have the Viltrumite and Saiyan bloodline" The white-haired woman explained.
"I hope you have a good life there, good luck!" She smiled and waved.
At that moment, Seth felt something pulling him and suddenly everything went dark, or rather, his consciousness was erased.
In the room, Seth disappeared, just like the Dragon Ball manga. The woman smiled to herself and said to the wind "I wonder what my next visitor will choose"
