Crásico whipped the table. The news of the generals' uprising in Polarucia made him more erratic and nervous. He had not expected it: now he would have to take cards against two fronts; from the north, they were marching towards Lugrum, with what little they knew, eight legions; and from the south, they were in danger of being attacked by Oriens.

Initially, Asians had only ten legions. And since he should not show himself weak before his enemies, he sent to recruit with levies, forced settlers and even non-citizens, ninety legions throughout the territory: three hundred and thirty thousand soldiers. The call for men, regardless of whether they were retired, and whether they had previously served a legio as officer or soldier, was massive.
