"What could she be writing in there…?" he thought to himself before taking his belongings and sitting next to her, she ignored his presence and continued to mutter to herself as she wrote frantically.
"No…it needs to be a little more like this…"
The scratching of the sandy paper sounded off quietly with her mutters as Dante looked a bit closer to see what she was writing into the book. His eyes squinted as he read along her scribbles. Each word was seemingly more recognizable than the spells they'd repeated the day before. He got slightly closer, being brought into the book before it suddenly shut in his face. Iris had grabbed the book and pulled it away from him.
"W-what do you think you're doing!?" she yelled as she held the book close to her chest and away from Dante. He didn't realize just how hard he was staring at the book until some laughs came along from the other classmates.
"Our favorite duo, bickering once more."
"Honestly, get a room you two."
Laughs and jeers were heard sporadically around the room as the two looked away from one another in embarrassment at the comments.
"It's rude to look at others belongings."
"I didn't think it was that serious…it was just the spells."
"What, are you mocking me because I like to go over my notes?"
"N-no, not at all! I-"
"Hmph."
She looked the other way once more with puffed cheeks, seemingly unresponsive to whatever Dante would try to say. He knew this would be hard, but to have such a weak start is demoralizing to the plan to make Iris open up a bit more. He looked away as well as the snickers shrunk down as the professor walked into the room. The sound of each step resounded within the room as you could hear a pen drop with the silence exhibited.
