Let's Go Dungeon Diving! - Chapter 10

"This is our annual Dungeon Walk, a trail that not only puts the best of the best up to difficult challenges, but a trail to see who can complete the most tasks, and come out atop our ranks at Auradelle Academy. This is usually an event we hold later within the semester, but with the influx of students and excitement towards the event. We think now is as good of a time as ever to get your swords sharpened."

A cheer came from the crowd as an orb began to float from behind the podium, towering over the instructors on the podium and flying above them. A layout of the dungeons' outer designs and innerworkings began to project onto the sphere. The crowd ogled at the work as two mages were making the magic happen on the sides. The detailing was not only descriptive but showed every entrance and exit within the dungeon.

"This is the layout of the dungeon you students will be traversing through today. Not only will you find yourselves working your way through a dungeon, you'll also be moving forward with your allotted teams we will pick at random, between you all. From our high ranking three stars, to my low ranking starless students, who I'm sure is up to the challenge of our dungeon. "

"That's right Professor! Each group will take on the trail of collecting these items from the different monsters within the dungeons walls! You can take a look at the sphere to note what you'll encounter! Each monster's material will net you a certain amount of points, though the point of the test is to get out safely with your party with each item in tow! You can all do that…right…?~"

"YEAH!" the crowd screeched as Kina seemed to embrace the crowd's reaction happily. Professor Manor stepped forward once more to describe what they'd be looking for and what they'd need to bring back.

"You'll be fighting the likes of your typical monsters, from slimes, to winged beasts of sorts, even to packs of ice wolves and banshee. There will be many things to look out for during your expedition, but if you can bring back these with your parties, you're sure to succeed and receive the passing grade."

He pointed his cane to the sphere as its writing molded to show the monsters and the items needed to pass.

"10 copper ranked materia, 5 silver, and 3 gold." Dante muttered as he looked at the different monsters displayed. Each had a number placed on their head signifying what they'd need. Ranking each monster with a materia rank and number, he began to try and count on his fingers what he'd need, but to no avail as his brain seemed to fry from the prospect of the many different combinations of points he could net. Iris sighed as she palmed her face, but began to think of the possibilities as well. She began to quickly write within her book the information to retain it.
