Chapter 6: Death of Qiangu Qitian

Qiangu Qitian's shaken-ice and fire whirled within him in the form of his energies barely managing that fragile balance. And from the woman standing in front of him-a goddess of devastating power and beauty-came the smirk of satisfaction on her golden-and-black eyes, gleaming like twin abysses full of cruel intentions and confidence unshaken.

"You have fought well," she said, her voice dripping with disdain. "But the outcome was never in doubt. Your precious body is mine now.

In an instant, she turned the air around her into an excited overwhelming binding oppressively-the same force that would drain life out of the environment and its setting now took the form of an enchanting clasp, one designed to mellow Qiangu Qitian into surrender. The Chaotic-Devouring Body aura was more than a stupendous attack; it had an effect upon one's soul in an insidious and treacherous manner.

Qiangu staggered back, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He could feel the precarious balance within his Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body slipping. The opposing forces of ice and fire inside him churned wildly, threatening to tear him apart.

"Don't. think you've won," he managed to say, though his voice was weak.

The woman only chuckled softly.

"How commendable, little mortal," she said, inching closer to them, "your defiance-it's time to submit to the call of your destiny."

With a raised hand, in an instant she wrapped the two in disordered energy, and Qiangu felt an unbearable pressure as his essence began to merge with hers.

The energy start was sluggish, conduction with mastery to show for lineage as ancient. Her aura wrapped around his, forming a bridge between their souls. On instinct, Qiangu's body reacted as the cold and fire energies rose inside his body, facing the invading force.

She whispered, "This is the essence of dual cultivation; yin and yang merged to one. Your resistance is only making it stronger."

Qiangu's vision had started to blur as energies within him surged uncontrollably. Her presence seemed to be invading every corner within him, overpowering any shred of resistance that may still have existed in him. His body shook because of his body balance, shifting toward hers, the Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body enticed toward the Chaotic-Devouring Body.

The tree tops stood still, as the two forces clashed and then harmonized. A storm was going on above them, with a split sky because of the lightning and growling thunder protesting.

The climax, the height reached when Qiangu culminated with her in the dual cultivation-the body was aflame with its pleasure and agony; her aura wrapped him so tight inside its folds, stifling and drugging, as it pulled out his essence to siphon it into hers and take what it wanted.

Her golden and black eyes gleamed with a triumphing light as her essence inhaled all the power of his from inside his Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body. All the cold and hot forces that once resided in him, the unparalleled potential source, flowed into her to fuel the incomparable power in her Chaotic-Devouring Body.

Just as the woman had finished her work, the heavens answered in anger as never before. The storm tore open above, revealing a whirling tunnel of blinding light. This was not a will of heaven but of another plane, otherworldly.

The triumphant smile on the woman's face faltered as she felt the overwhelming presence of the divine.

"This. isn't the normal heavens," she muttered, her voice trembling with a rare note of unease.

The whirling vortex above roared with power, and then a voice came-a voice reaching across eternity.

"You have rebelled against the natural order, seized what was never yours to take, upsetting the natural balance of mortal realms. For this crime, you shall receive Heaven's Judgment."

Her guard flared as she squared her defenses.

"Judgment?" she snarled. "I am beyond your judgment! I am the Chaos Devourer, the heir of the Dragon Clan, and no one can condemn me!

But before even the words had formed inside her mouth, a shaft descended from the vortex and whipped into the earth with force enough to shake it. The power in the beam was unlike anything she had ever taken in: absolute, uncompromising, and pure.

Instantly, Qiangu Qitian's body started to shrink down with the downturn in his divine energy, while the essence in the depth of his life force root was drawn out of the very root of his life. The aura lost their brilliance and turned pale. The energies of cold and hot preserved in his body dissipated; nothing was left except for a layer of leather.

He fell to the ground, almost unable to breathe.

"I. won't let it end like this," he muttered to himself, his voice barely audible.

But the body refused to budge. No essence and life energy made him frail, about to die at any time.

It was then that she looked down at him with an unreadable expression.

"You served a purpose," she spoke with no emotions. "Be grateful your wretched life brought some worth to something important."

The vortex above increased and the great voice began anew.

"You, that have taken in pride, that which is not your own, shall give reasons unto the same. The scale will be balanced."

And she lifted her hand with calls for the chaotic energy to defend itself against the will of the gods.

"Balance?" she scoffed. "The balance is whatever I say it is!"

The beam of light fell once more, right upon her. She shrieked as the energy tore through her defenses, burning her from the inside out.

But her Chaotic-Devouring Body was tough, its power borrowing from the essence of innumerable beings. She withstood the divine assault, though her aura came out a little weaker.

"You think this is enough to defeat me?" she growled, her golden and black eyes ablaze with defiance.

The divine voice replied calmly and with authority.

"This is only the beginning."

The vortex launched a series of attacks, each stronger than the last. The woman countered with all her might, her chaotic energy pitted against the light in a battle that shook the heavens and the earth.

Qiangu Qitian's consciousness wavered in the ongoing battle. His body was dying, but his mind held onto the actions of those in front of him. He could feel a bit of his essence remaining inside the woman, small and unyielding. He thought with a bitter taste in his mind, "She. took everything. But if I can't stop her, who will?"

Summoning the last reserves of his will, Qiangu reached with his mind to channel the faint remnants of his essence that were still with her.

She froze when she felt his presence stir within her.

"What are you doing?" she asked in near-panicked tones.

The voice of Qiangu came back in her head, weak but resolute:.

If I die, you won't have my power either," he said. "You took my essence, but it is still connected to me. If I go, so does it."

Her golden and black eyes widened in shock and anger.

"You dare-" she began, but once more her words were again cut off as the divine energy struck her once more, this time with an intensity beyond anything before.

At last, the vortex above it was opened had begun to close as its purpose had been fulfilled. The voice spoke once more.

"The balance has been restored. May this serve as a lesson to any that would strive against the natural order."

With the diminishment of light, she falls on her knees, her aura fluttering like a dying flame, staring with furious and disbelieving eyes at Qiangu Qitian.

"You.ruined everything." She hisses.

Qiangu forced a weak smile, saying, "At least. I didn't let you win."

Immediately after that, his body could only go limp, and then everything went black.

The aftermath of the divine reckoning still hung in the air, while oppressive silence was a huge juxtaposition to the chaotic clash that shook heaven and earth just a few moments ago. Kneeling in the crater the final strike had made, chaotic energy danced around her like a dying ember while her eyes of gold and black mismatched glared at the still form of Qiangu Qitian laying a few feet away.

His body was unmoving, pale, and lifeless—a husk drained of essence and vitality. But even as she triumphantly gained his Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body, there was no satisfaction in the triumph; instead, there was a strange indescribable unshakeable unease gnawing at her.

She made her way to his body, her pace slow and labored. Every movement was like a knife thrust into her soul, reminding her of all the injuries the divine had given her. She raised a shaking hand and laid her fingers against his skin, which was cold to the touch.

"You can't die, Not like this."

Her Chaotic-Devouring Body had taken in innumerable essences, swallowed and digested, throughout the ages. But this time it was different. Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body-it could be said to be a gift that a millennium would not be enough to produce. Without Qiangu Qitian alive to anchor it, at least as long as she has absorbed the power of Primordial Yin-yang creation body, bound with the law.

"No!" she snarled but full of resonance with desperation. "You're mine. I won't let you fade away!"

And her aura flared to life as, with all the remainder of her chaotic energy, she focused on his lifeless form in an effort to pour vitality and energy into him; golden and black eyes gleamed bright with determinate power.

This must have been the chaos of energy running powerfully through Qiangu's body, attempting to ignite life within. She did, putting her life's force into it and casting aside the searing pain which rent her asunder, giving away chunks of herself.

But it did not stir.

The imbalance of Yin and Yang within Qiangu's physique had made it incompatible with the forces outside. His essence had entwined with the natural laws of creation, and she was in vehement conflict with those immutable laws as she tried to revive him.

"Damn it!" she snarled, full of ire and desperation. "I will not let the heavens take you!"

Her Chaotic-Devouring Body was one that had been nurtured by defiance and fed on the natural order. For her, there simply didn't exist anything she could not overcome.

But then, the Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body wasn't any ordinary body either-a vessel forged by heaven itself, a sensitive balancing of opposites which absolutely could not be tampered with.

"If I can't save you at this time, I promise I'll turn the tides of time," she whispered to herself. "I'll bring you before this moment when your soul is free."

Then, her runes flared to life in an uncanny brilliance, distorting the weaved tapestries around her. It shimmered when she pulled space and time to and beyond their breaking points.

But as the method started to take effect, heaviness from the heavens finally arrived-a low humming noise in the air, getting louder by the second.

"No," she whispered, her golden eye narrowing. "I won't let you interfere again!"

The glowing runes shattered as a wave of invisible force fell upon her. The unbending and absolute power of the law smashed her attempt to change the course of nature.

Kneeling onto the ground, she vomited a mouthful of blood as the backlash from her defiance tore through her. Resilient though the Chaotic-Devouring Body was, it still couldn't stand against the heavens and Laws combined.

---

Her vision fell once more on the figure of Qiangu, yet to show any reaction at all. Her mismatched pair of eyes now housed only one rare emotion: helplessness.

"I've killed a million, stolen a million essences," she whispered. "But why. why can't I save your life?"

How ironic it was-the Chaotic-Devouring Body that was supposed to engulf everything it touched now, under the iron laws that ruled the universe, didn't even possess the slightest bit of resistance.

This time, she reached out and laid her hand on Qiangu's chest.

"Wake up," she whispered, her voice breaking. "You're not allowed to leave. Not like this."

Her energy flared again, but this time it was different. She channeled not chaotic energy but pure vitality—the essence of her own life. She poured everything she had into him, willing him to return.

But the body of the Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body resisted her attempt. For the balance of Yin and Yang inside it was something she could never affect no matter how strong she was.

---

体的相抗之力.

She sat there, her aura fluttering weakly as the oppressive presence of the heavens finally began to dissipate. Not out of mercy, really, but more along the lines of mute acknowledgment of the inevitable-this body given by heaven was beyond changing by mortal or divine means.

The woman shut her eyes as her shoulders slumped in defeat. This was defeat for the first time in a very long life, not from being outmatched, but finding one simple truth that was beyond her to deny.

"This boy, I have given my virginity to you, but I couldn't get the blessings from you bastard." She told softly, still her voice didn't even reached whisper. "I wanted your power, your physique. But now. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it all.

Nothing but the soft rustling of leaves in the wind disturbed the stillness of the forest around them. The storm was all gone, and the colors of the sky were painted in shades of orange and pink.

She was standing beside Qiangu now, her wild energy dissipated, her arrogance destroyed. For the first time, she had taken the blow from heaven and from the inexorable laws of the creation. For the first time in her life, she felt the defeat and was bound to acknowledge the limitation of her powers.
