I could hear how unhappy Blake was, but I didn’t catch the beginning of their argument, so I had to hold quiet to try and understand more of what was happening.
“You don’t need to stay with her to pretend, you could come over with me, right now,” I heard him say to Max and that was when I decided to quickly pull a shirt over me and walk in.
“What’s going on?” I said yawning and stretching my arms, pretending to be sleepy.
Max quickly came to my side and kissed my cheek, and I was able to glance at Blake's angry look.
“Sorry for waking you Abi,” Max quickly added, probably noticing how Blake was not saying anything.
“It’s ok, what’s wrong? You don’t look happy Blake,” I probed and he tightened his jaw.
“No, no, you got it wrong, is ok, Blake just came to find me because Jason sent him to give me back my phone, because I left it somewhere and I couldn’t find it, and Jason found it.”
“So he sent me to give it back to him,” Blake finished the made-up story.
