Chapter 35: Playing with My Feelings

It was all written on Blake’s face; the guilt and the pain, the sadness and the remorse.

Ever since I found them having sex on Valentine’s Day, I knew one thing for certain, and that was that I wasn’t going to compete with Blake for Max’s affections. Of course, I was mad because Max wouldn’t trust me with such a big secret, for the lies and the cheating.

But as I came to a realization that Blake really loved Max, I was willing to break things off with Max to let them be together, and for me to be finally free.

“I hope you both can find happiness together,” I said to them, turning around to leave.

But Max took my hand quickly. “Wait, please.”

I turned around and saw the hurt in Blake’s eyes. He whispered something I could not understand and then left us alone. I took a deep breath and sighed. I owed Max at least that, listening to what he had to say.
