Chapter 39: Honesty is the Only Policy

*Olivia*

My breath caught in my throat as lights flashed in the car window. Daemon lifted his head from between my thighs and looked outside, keeping his body protectively over mine.

“Shh, it’s alright,” he said as if I was a frightened animal. He stroked my hair and smirked down at me. “It’s just cars passing by. The street is getting busier. Maybe I should take you home.”

I didn’t want that at all. My body was screaming at me to push his head back between my legs where it belonged, but I also didn’t want anyone to see us as we messed around. I sat up and slid my panties back on, clearing my throat. “Sure, thanks.”

We were quiet as Daemon drove us to my place. My heart was hammering as I thought about what to say to him. I had no words, just jumbled thoughts and a bunch of tangled emotions.

Even though we were sitting apart now, and I had some time to think before he brought me home, I found that my desire for him was as strong as ever.
