THE GREEN CLAWED BEAST

ORIGIN: Indiana.

The legend of the green clawed beast is a tale that originated in Evansville, Indiana, United States.

It dates back to August 21, 1955, when a woman named Naomi Johnson experienced had a very strange experience while swimming in the Ohio River with a friend.

As the story was told, Naomi was suddenly dragged underwater by something her friend couldn't see.

She struggled for several long minutes underwater before managing to break free and reach to the surface.

When she made it to shore, she found a large, greenish, claw-like mark on her leg; it looked as though it was stained into her skin.

The strange claw mark remained on her skin for days, even after her efforts and attempts to wash it off.

The incident left the lady shaken; she believed and anyone that cared to listen that she had narrowly escaped a monstrous creature living beneath the water.

Some locals rumoured that it was a giant aquatic beast, while others whispered about extraterrestrial involvement; aliens and whatnot.

This was especially because the Naomi's 'incident' occurred not long after the world famous Hopkinsville Goblins UFO incident in Kentucky, just across the river.

The Green Clawed Beast story still goes in till this day and has slowly become a legend.

It has become a warning tale for swimmers and remains one of Indiana's most chilling urban legends, making people wonder what mysterious dangers stay hidden beneath seemingly calm waters.
