GREEN CHILDREN OF WOOLPIT

ORIGIN: England.

The urban legend of The Green Children of Woolpit is a mysterious tale that dates back to the 12th century in the village of Woolpit, Suffolk, England.

The story tells of two strange children—a brother and sister— who one day went too near to a wolf pit, a common trap used to catch animals.

What made them truly mesmerizing was their skin color, which was a very uncommon shade of green.

The children wore strange clothing made from even stranger looking materials, and they spoke a language that no one in the village could understand.

They appeared very scared and confused, refusing to eat any food offered to them except for raw beans.

Over time, as they adapted to their new environment and began eating other foods, their greenish skin gradually returned to a normal color.

Sadly, the boy grew sick and died shortly after their arrival, but the girl survived and eventually learned to speak English.

When asked about their origin, she described a place called "St. Martin's Land."

She called it a 'subterranean world' where everything was in dull lightning, and the sun never fully rose.

She claimed they had wandered into the upper world by accident, when they followed a strange light.

To this day, the story remains unexplained, leaving many to wonder if the children truly came from another realm.
