THE BLOODSTAINED BRIDE OF GLAMIS CASTLE

ORIGIN: Scotland.

The Bloodstained Bride of Glamis Castle is a Scottish urban legend that has haunted the halls of the ancient castle in Angus, Scotland, for centuries.

Glamis Castle, which is well known for its rich history and dark secrets, is considered one of the most haunted locations in the United Kingdom.

Among its many ghost tales, the story of the Bloodstained Bride stands out as one of the most tragic and horrifying.

The legend tells of a young woman, Lady Janet Douglas, who was forced into an abusive marriage with a cruel nobleman.

In desperate need to escape her torment, she attempted to run from the castle on her wedding night.

However, her husband found out about her plan and, in a fit of rage, dragged her back to their chambers.

There, he murdered her in cold blood, stabbing her repeatedly.

Her blood stained her wedding dress, and her lifeless body was then left in the room as a warning to others.

Since that fateful night, her spirit wanders the castle halls, wearing her blood-soaked bridal gown for all eternity.

Visitors and residents have told of seeing her ghost, and some others have heard painful screams in agony, echoing through the stone corridors of the castle.
