BLACK-EYED BRIDE

This story is often linked to ghostly apparitions seen along lonely roads or near old churches, with the figure of a bride in a tattered white wedding dress.

What sets this legend apart is the haunting look of the bride's black, soulless eyes, devoid of any whites or pupils.

According to legend, the Black-Eyed Bride was a young woman who was about to marry the love of her life. 

However, on her wedding day, something bad happened.

In some versions of the story, she was jilted; left at the altar.

… And filled with grief, she took her own life. 

But in other versions, she was murdered on the eve of her wedding day and her body discarded into the nearby woods. 

Her spirit is said to have never found peace, and she now wanders in her wedding dress, seeking vengeance or maybe someone else to take her place.

If you meet her gaze, her black eyes are said to pierce into your soul, leaving you with a curse of misfortune or death.
