And many say this is a real life story.
The most common version involves a young girl that was left home alone for the night.
Her parents assured her that she'll be safe with their loyal dog watching over her.
Later that night, as she settles into bed, she hears strange noises and dripping sounds coming from within the house, but since she feels comforted by her dog's presence, she dismisses the sounds.
Throughout the night, whenever she feels scared, or hears the dripping sounds again, she dangles her hand over the side of her bed, and her dog licks it, making her calm down again with the thought that she is safe.
However, the next morning, she finds her dog has been brutally killed, and its body was left dangling over a basin in the kitchen with its blood dripping down into it.
On the white kitchen wall, written in blood, were the words: "Humans Can Lick Too."
