HELLFIRE CLUB GHOSTS

ORIGIN: Ireland.

In the 18th century, the infamous Hellfire Club was a secret society rumored to have engaged in black magic, and satanic rituals.

One of the most notorious Hellfire Club sites is the Montpelier Hill Lodge in Dublin, Ireland, which is now a place full of so many supernatural folklore.

The stone hunting lodge was built in 1725, and became the meeting ground for the Hellfire Club, led by members of the aristocracy.

Local rumors spoke of drunken orgies, blasphemous practices, and the summoning of dark entities.

And on one night, a stranger joined their gathering.

As he sat by the fire, a guest noticed he had cloven hooves instead of feet—

… These was usually a sign of the Devil himself.

Then, just like that, the figure vanished in a burst of flames, leaving the men absolutely scared and horrified.

Other versions of this legend say that there was a sacrifice of a young servant girl, whose body was burned alive in chains in the fireplace.

Her tortured spirit is lives there, and many visitors avoid that area because…

All you will keep hearing are screams, screams from the dead girl's ghost.

The lodge is also believed to be cursed, with strange fires and mysterious deaths that have happened in the course of its history.

Even today, the ruins atop Montpelier Hill are avoided by locals after dark in fear of the ghosts from the Hellfire Club's wicked past.
