Chapter 178: The Frenzied Hulk

Ranked second was Thor, the god of thunder from another planet. Being an alien naturally made some people fear him. Coupled with his ability to summon lightning, it was no surprise he secured second place with over 40,000 votes.

But the first place went to the protagonist of this event—Hulk. The votes for him skyrocketed to an astonishing 130,000, leaving Thor far behind in the dust!

"These votes are outrageously high," Han Yu murmured to himself.

Ultron nodded in agreement. "While not all of Hulk's votes came from actual people, the proportion of real votes is still the highest compared to others."

Han Yu nodded silently. Right now, the priority wasn't to track down who initiated this campaign. It was clear that someone with a grudge against the Avengers was behind it. However, catching them wouldn't solve the problem.

The truth was, Hulk had indeed gone on a rampage, causing massive panic. Without this incident, the hate-vote campaign would've just been a trivial online spectacle.

Now that the hate votes were out in the open, the military had undoubtedly noticed them. They might take the opportunity to capture Hulk and begin ruthless biological experiments on him.

Han Yu had seen too many plots like this. A potentially dangerous entity gets captured by the military, which, instead of destroying it outright, conducts biological research—only to give the entity a chance to turn the tables.

Han Yu was sick of such cliché storylines. Turning to Ultron, he asked, "Do we have the means to locate him now?"

Ultron shook his head. "Even the X system can't find him. Although it's designed to track mutants and regular humans, the frenzied Hulk is too smart. He knows how to avoid cameras. With just city cameras and satellites, we won't be able to locate him."

Han Yu stroked his chin thoughtfully. He did have access to more advanced surveillance equipment, but its invasive nature was problematic. Using it in this world could reveal everything, down to what people were doing inside their homes.

"I've got an idea. Wait for me here; I'll step out for a bit," Han Yu said, leaving Ultron and the others behind.

As he walked, Han Yu browsed through the items in his miscellaneous store system, searching for a specific tool.

Reaching a familiar spot—a narrow alley behind the miscellaneous store—Han Yu leaped into the air. The green energy from his lantern transformed his appearance, blending him seamlessly with the surrounding scenery, effectively making him invisible.

"Found it!"

His gaze finally landed on an item: a cylindrical object shaped like a Western chess king, glowing faintly red at the top.

This was a Control Sentinel. Its function was to monitor everything within a certain range. No matter where the target hid—even in a skyscraper—Han Yu could see their exact location as long as they were within the sentinel's field.

"System, I need a few Control Sentinels," Han Yu said.

"Each Control Sentinel costs 20 upgrade points. Please make the payment," the system replied indifferently.

Han Yu was stunned. "Wait, I'm already the store manager. Can't I just take this?"

The system answered coldly, "This item requires 'Intermediate Store Manager' privileges for free access. The host's current level does not meet the requirement. Please upgrade."

"Upgrade my foot! You bloodsucking scammer just want to drain all my upgrade points!"

Rolling his eyes, Han Yu felt exasperated. He had never seen such a manipulative system. Not only did it refuse to assign him tasks, but it also seemed determined to squeeze every last upgrade point from him. What benefit could it possibly gain from draining him dry?

As soon as he finished speaking, the long-unheard, highly annoying notification sound of the miscellaneous store system echoed in his mind.

"Instant Mission Released: [Resolve the Chaos Caused by the Hulk]. Reward: 300 Upgrade Points!"

Hearing this, Han Yu felt a bit better. With a snort, he said to the system, "At least you have some conscience. Exchange five Control Sentinels for me."

"Exchanging Control Sentinels. You have received [Control Sentinel] ×5. Cost: 100 Upgrade Points," the system announced.

Han Yu extended his hand and rotated three fingers mid-air. Five glowing red Control Sentinels began to hover slowly above his palm.

It was his first time seeing these devices in the real world, and he couldn't resist fiddling with them out of curiosity. It wasn't until Ultron called to ask what he was doing that Han Yu snapped out of it.

With a flick of his wrist, Han Yu tossed all five Control Sentinels into the air. Items that required an Intermediate Store Manager level to access freely must be exceptional. Just one Control Sentinel was enough to monitor the entire city of New York.

To ensure safety, Han Yu expanded the monitoring coverage to include many surrounding areas as well.

Once the Control Sentinels activated their monitoring range, their physical forms became invisible, making them undetectable by conventional means.

Additionally, they were untouchable, so Han Yu didn't have to worry about issues like helicopters accidentally colliding with them.

After finishing, he flew back to the miscellaneous store and entered the game room. The store system had already transmitted everything captured by the Control Sentinels to their computer.

"Wow, boss! What did you do? We've got all of New York on our screens now. We can see everywhere. This is amazing!" Quicksilver exclaimed excitedly.

Han Yu gave him a hard knock on the head and said seriously, "We're doing important work here. If I catch you using this for anything indecent or shady, you'll be in big trouble!"

Seeing Han Yu's stern expression, the mischievous thoughts in Quicksilver's mind vanished instantly. Awkwardly, he laughed and replied, "Of course not! Come on, it's me, Pietro. Would I use this kind of thing for shady stuff?"

"Good, just making sure."

After a few warnings, Han Yu turned to Ultron and asked, "So, have you found him?"

"Yes, we have. He's in the eastern direction. Here are the coordinates!"

Ultron sounded amazed. The effectiveness of the Control Sentinels left him speechless. They provided 360-degree, all-encompassing surveillance with zero blind spots.

Han Yu stepped forward to check the coordinates. It wasn't far.

"I'll handle this myself. Stay here and keep an eye on the surrounding areas near the location in case of ambushes. If something comes up, use the Green Lantern Ring to notify me."

With that, Han Yu took off, flying swiftly toward the destination.
