Broken heart

This morning was stunning. The trees were swaying in response to the breeze while birds sang in the background. The ants dancing together in long columns appeared to indicate they were preparing for the holiday season. After the long winter season, nature was finally overjoyed to experience the summer. However, one specific human being did not experience this joy.

This morning was a rather gloomy one. A spatter of used tissues, weighing hundreds of tons, covered the floor. Blankets and items littered the floor, while empty bottles of iced wine littered the bed and floor. The cramped bedroom resembled a pig's den. She had rolled herself into a small ball in her pink pajamas and covered herself with a blanket. Her nose and eyes had turned red from the tears she had shed, and prominent bags were visible under her eyes. Her hair was a mess, wrapped in a sloppy bun.

She had no idea that one day she would be so upset about a man that she would find herself crying or drinking herself to sleep. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect to face her broken heart on a silver platter one day, and yet here she was, lying on this bed with an immense sorrow in her chest. She could feel that her heart was breaking into smaller pieces with each passing second, and the anguish that was resulting from these smaller pieces was increasing in intensity.

She wore her heart on her sleeve and hoped that he would see it and defend it with his life, but he grabbed it from her grip, dropped it in the mud, and trampled on it without a care in the world. She had worn her heart on her sleeve. Despite his insults and destruction, she still experienced a vexing sensation in the depths of her stomach whenever she contemplated interacting with him. Despite love's inherent blindness and ignorance, she chose to ignore it. In love, she was a fool.

When the door to her bedroom opened with a creak, a tall and slender figure entered, her heels clicking against the hardwood floor. The expression on her face was one of concern, and she was holding a tray that contained breakfast in her hands. She shook her head in distaste and cringed as she looked at the mess in the room. After navigating through the chaos on the floor, she positioned the tray to rest on the headboard. "Aria, this has been ongoing for an excessive amount of time. You are in dire need of a long, refreshing shower, a satisfying meal, and a change of clothes; you are a disgrace." While she was making her observation, she covered her mouth and nose with the palm of her hand.

Although Aria's eyes, with their red rims, did not appear to be intimidating to anyone at this particular time, she continued to glare at her. As Aria spoke to Zoey calmly, "Go away, Zoey," Zoey's heart melted at the sight of Aria.

"Listen, my love..." Zoey let out a sigh before settling down on the bed. "I have no idea what is going on with you; I only know that you contacted me last night, crying on the phone, and begged me to pick you up in the middle of nowhere. I am still determining what might be going on with you. Whatever hurts, put it aside for a few hours and work." She uttered those words, and Aria's look caused her to grind her teeth in remorse.

"Go to work?" Inquiring with tears streaming down her cheeks, Aria questioned. "You want me to return to the same building as that man?" As a sign of her bewilderment, Zoey scrunched up her face. "Do you want me to return to work after everything he has done to me? His insults broke my heart, Zoey." Aria sat straight and wept.

"Aria, I apologize for the question, but who are we talking about?" Zoey asked.

"David, Zoey!" 'David Miller! Come on!

"You are late again," Noah stated to Olivia.

Olivia concluded, "It is 7 in the morning." Despite being at least an hour late, Olivia failed to grasp the significance of her delay. It was apparent to Noah that she was at least trying to improve her situation.

On the other hand, Olivia could have been more gullible; she knew punctuality was crucial in the business world. Because every second counts in the corporate world, Olivia found immense pleasure in punishing individuals who were late. She was determined not to waste any of her time, given the urgency of the situation. It was unfortunate that she didn't have the time to worry about people she could easily replace in a matter of seconds, but she understood Noah's situation and his frustration.

There was nothing that Noah Jones could do to change the fact that she was not precisely a lowlife, and it was a huge surprise that she was not. "I asked you to come in at 6 a.m." Noah clenched his teeth.

He was not as frustrated as he typically is, but he was angry. He seemed exhausted. Olivia, it's possible that his date was unsuccessful. She should have known that it was a complete and utter turnoff. This is Scarlett. Because of her story, Juan had utterly destroyed his evening, and he was still trying to figure out what to do. It was incomprehensible to him that his two closest friends had secretly rescued his brother from the situation by going behind his back. Owen would never grow up; he would keep going to his rendezvous, secure that he could rely on his brother's friends.

"I don't have to remind you that I don't in any way work for you. We have a deal, and that's as far as it goes," Olivia remarked with a chilly expression. There was no need for her to be here, and she was perplexed as to why Noah had held April Williams at this location for such a long period. However, she surmised that it might have something to do with her brother's relationship with April.

"Whatever, just get out of my office." He didn't look forward to handling her problem today. "Now, don't you have some work to do?" he asked. He posed the question, to which she responded with a smirk.

"Oh, I have plenty of work to do, Mr. Jones." Before he could say anything, she grabbed her handbag and left, not because he had anything to say, but because she was a distraction. She left before he could say anything else.

Livvy Williams's tenure at Jones's was limited, and Noah needed to exact his revenge and permanently remove April Williams from his life. Noah recognized the perilous nature of his actions. On the other hand, he was now dealing with several other issues.

"Noah, how much longer will you continue as you have been? She should have received her third warning by now! Zara yelled out.

As Noah groaned in aggravation and grabbed his head, he realized that he had consumed a significant amount of alcohol the previous evening, and Zara was not helping him in any way. Her loud and squeaky voice only made his head pound. He could hear himself murmuring, "Keep your voice down."

"Keep my voice down?" Noah met Zara's yelling with a frown. "Noah, she is literally and figuratively asserting her dominance." "She behaves like she is in charge of this establishment; she enters and exits whenever she pleases. There is no way to get rid of her or April."

"I'm working on it," Noah muttered, clearing his throat momentarily before glancing away from her and searching elsewhere.

Noah looked into Zara's eyes and noticed their harshness, but he could not determine why. "Try harder," Zara replied in a chilly tone. "I'm confident that if you could confine your brother in prison, you could eliminate those two individuals without any hesitation." As soon as she said that, Noah became rigid.

Zoey's disbelief persisted for a few minutes before she continued to speak. "Then, hold on! Did you call me from David's apartment last night while you were getting dressed? She asked, and Aria responded with a forceful nod. "What is it? What time did this take place?" Within a few minutes of crying, Aria had finished telling her complete narrative in response to Zoey's question. "What?! What kind of human being would act in such an unethical and horrific manner?"

Aria said something under her breath, "David Miller," and Zoey shook her head in surprise that she had heard it. Even though she knew that David Miller was a player, she was unaware he could be sneaky and dishonest. "So, this is why you hate me," Zoey stated in a low voice, while Aria remained silent during the entire conversation. Zoey raised her head, and it was then that their eyes connected, and a mutual comprehension passed between the two of them. "You are in love with David Miller," commented Zoey.

Aria gave a cautious nod to Zoey's comments as if she were attempting to determine their significance. "I love him, Zoey." She uttered those words as new tears streamed down her face. "I love him so much that it hurts." Zoey smiled at her with a sad expression and then took her hands.

"Dear Aria, I am very sorry. It is difficult for me to understand what you are going through, but I want you to know that I do not love David and have never loved him." It was a sarcastic laugh, and she shook her head in response. "David took advantage of me sexually, and I hate him for that. It is not possible for David and I to have any ties. Let me assure you of it."

In response, Aria rolled her eyes and scoffed. According to Zoey, it is no longer relevant. "My relationship with David Miller and Miller Corporation is over." Aria gently squeezed Zoey's hand as she smiled and offered a reassuring grin.

Zoey screamed out in complete and utter disbelief.

"I'm sorry, Zoey, but I quit."
