Zara was becoming increasingly concerned about Noah. He left without informing her of his intended destination, but he regularly let her know when he was going out, even if it was to the café a few blocks away.
As they were leaving, Theo, Noah's driver, informed Elowen, his wife, of the destination they were going to. As a result of Zara's disrespectful behavior towards her throughout the day, she was unable to ask her specific questions. Zara went to Noah's office and waited for him even though it was almost time for her to go to bed. She did not pack her things and instead went there.
Elowen sat on Noah's chair for a few minutes before arriving at the office and peeping her head in. "Theo just called. He says they are on their way from the airport." As she spoke, Zara gave a slight nod. I'll see you tomorrow, then." Zara intervened and prevented her from leaving, even though she had a slight smile and was about to leave.
"Elowen?" Zara, speaking in a high-pitched voice, stated that Elowen had made another appearance. "I'm sorry about earlier." She said the words grimly, her eyes wet from the myriad of feelings rushing through her body.
Upon entering, Elowen proceeded to stand close to the entrance. "Zara, I ultimately realize that we all have our bad days. I hope everything turns out well." Her tone was friendly.
Zara gave a nod, and she blinked away her tears. "Me too, thanks." With a smirk on her face, she spoke. Following Elowen's departure from the workplace, Zara remained there for the subsequent hour, waiting for Noah to arrive.
When Noah entered the office, the atmosphere was a bit dim. Immediately after turning on the light, he covered his eyes to protect them from the intense brightness.
He seemed exhausted.
He had untucked his shirt from his slacks, untangled his tie, unfurled his collar, and was carrying his jacket. All of these things happened simultaneously. After rubbing his eyes, he opened them to discover Zara sleeping on his chair. The sight of Zara sleeping there astonished him. He steadily walked around his desk, tossing his jacket onto the couch. "Zara?" As he gently caressed her shoulder, he murmured something.
She jumped up in fear, but then she calmed down as soon as she recognized the face she had seen before. "Noah, you are back." As she massaged her eyes and yawned, she whispered something to herself. As soon as she rose from his chair, she glanced around, avoiding direct eye contact with him. She walked around him and went to sit on the couch. Noah followed her, and the two of them sat there in awkward silence for a very long time.
The two started, "I'm sorry about—" and silently looked at each other. "You first!" At the same moment, they both exclaimed, utterly oblivious to the discomfort that had just been experienced.
"Okay, ladies first," Noah said once his laughter faded, and Zara smiled slightly.
"Look, Noah..." She started twiddling her fingers. It was Noah who grabbed her hands and gave them a gentle squeeze. She looked up and met his eyes, and he smiled at her in a way that only she had ever seen before. She realized right then that there was nothing she would not forgive him for, yet she still apologized. "Please accept my apologies for what I said previously. My anger led me to say certain things. Owen is your brother, and you can choose how to discipline him."
"No, Zara, there's nothing to be sorry for." Noah sighed as he leaned on the couch and gazed at the ceiling. "If anyone should be sorry, it is me." With his head inclined to the side, he turned his attention to her. "What I did was irresponsible, and I'm glad you confronted me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gone to London to learn the truth." He offered her an encouraging look and then clasped her hand again. "I didn't find Owen, but I spoke to David, and he cleared up some things for me."
"I'm certain he felt immense regret." When Zara said that Noah laughed it off.
"Like hell he was; he will never truly take me seriously," she said. Imagine if I gave him everything I had, and then he would ask me if I was pleased with what I had done. Zara laughed, her eyes gleaming with humor, as Noah made his statement. What's more, it's a good thing that I went to visit him since he was the one who brought me to the person who was the brains behind everything. Mr. Ryan Hall. Following our departure from London, Theo and I embarked on a journey within Australia to look for David.
"How did that go?" Zara had a question.
"Even better than I expected, you won't believe who I ran into in Sydney." A smirk appeared on Noah's face, and Zara's interest increased.
"Who?" She sat upright and inquired about it.
"April's Nana."
"What? She is meant to be ill; isn't that the case?" Zara asked.
"I also thought about it before I saw her, but then I saw her," she said. The older woman is in far better health than her granddaughter claimed she was, and you won't believe what she told me about her health. Our dear April is vacationing in Durban at her boyfriend's residence while on paid leave." Noah commented with a smile.
"No way!" Zara let out a gasp.
"That's certainly not the most impressive story." When I asked about her other grandchild, she appeared to be a little taken aback, and it is possible that she stated, in a few words, that April Williams did not have a sister." Zara's eyes widened in response to Noah's statement.
It was not something she had expected to hear tonight. "What does that mean?" Still in a state of haze, she inquired.
"That, my dear Zara, suggests Livvy Williams is dishonest, and we will win their games." I will treat Livvy Williams with respect, and when she believes everything will be well, I will strike. However, I have to attend to something else for the time being. A sly sparkle in Noah's eyes accompanied his words, prompting Zara to narrow her eyes toward him.
"What is it?" She inquired suspiciously, and his disposition became ten times more gloomy.
"We are going to pay April Williams a visit," he said in a chilly tone while maintaining a distant gaze.
