Needing Help

It's a miracle! My conversation with the most handsome man in the entire universe had just come to an end. It was Aria who gushed.

When Zoey saw this, her eyes rolled back. What gives you the impression that he is so appealing? The only time you ever heard his voice on the phone was when he spoke to you. She stated.

"Exactly!" Aria expressed her joy when she was approached by a group of coworkers who gave her an odd look as they passed by. "It would help if you, Zoey, could hear his voice. I can't find the right words to describe it. It was so..." She sighed.

Zoey grinned and shook her head in assent to the statement. Zoey was still a little taken aback when Aria called her this morning and asked her to pick her up for work, even though she had already gone to visit Aria after she had finished her work. This was particularly true given that Aria had expressed seriousness about quitting her job the day before. The sudden shift in her disposition and state of mind left her speechless. She was sure that for Zoey to assist Aria in mending her heart, she would need to buy significant amounts of jewelry.

"So, who were we talking to?" Aria picked up her phone when it rang and answered it.

"A job well done?" Aria presented the question, and Zoey responded by raising her eyebrows. She was curious about the person she spoke with on the phone, which sparked her excitement.

At that moment, Zoey realized something about Aria that she hadn't noticed since she'd brought her back that morning. Aria's voice was extremely high-pitched, her fingers twitched a lot, and her smiles did not reach her eyes as they usually did. If Aria was not feeling well, why did she go to work after informing Zoey that she had quit the previous evening? Why did she go to work if she was not feeling well?

Zoey brought to her attention a section of their conversation from the previous evening. During that conversation, Aria informed Zoey that she would email Olivia her resignation letter. Zoey clenched her jaws in astonishment, and Aria furrowed her eyebrows in a similar display of confusion. Even though Zoey was aware of Olivia's talent for deception and manipulation, she did not believe that Olivia would exploit Aria's situation. However, on the other hand, why did she seem surprised? It had been several years since she had employed the same strategies against her, and they had proven to be entirely effective. After expressing her surprise by shaking her head, Zoey walks away from Aria's desk, perplexing her. Aria became lost in her confusion.

"Did you hear anything I said?" When Olivia was leaving Jones's Enterprises and getting into the car, she inquired about the issue.

"No?" Closing one eye, Aria uttered a statement, seemingly ready for an outburst; however, she found comfort when she remained silent. Once Olivia overheard Aiden asking her employer where they were going next, she informed him they would return to the apartment. This was a question that she overheard Aiden ask.

"You did a fantastic job," she said. "Even though I thought Noah bought it, I don't trust him because I think he's right." Olivia was looking out the window of the car when she said this.

"What makes you think that?" Aria spoke up as she watched Zoey return to her desk.

"The generosity he displayed today was truly remarkable, and his excessive happiness was not to my liking." Something is not right with him. To put it another way, I need to understand what's going on. Olivia made a resolute assertion.

"Then what?"

"I will defeat him in his own arena." Olivia hung up with a sneer as Aria was about to share something.

"Why are so many people hanging up today?" she asked. She sighed, then put her phone down and continued to sigh. "Are you going somewhere?" She asked Zoey a question while wearing a sinister smirk on her face.

David is present in this room. As soon as Zoey delivered her statement, Aria remained frozen.

"You can relax; he's not coming in today; we have a business meeting outside the office." After reassuring her, Zoey inquired about the issue that had been bothering her for the past few minutes. "What are you doing here if you are not ready to face him?"

Aria let out a sigh and fumbled with her fingers. The same question recurred in her mind. She could have declined Olivia's offer and remained at home; she could have even made the phone call from her residence, yet she still managed to make it to the office. Perhaps she hoped that David would change his thinking and possibly even his heart if he saw the agony and pain that he had given her. She did not know why she had come; perhaps she had the conviction that David would change his mind.

Moreover, she couldn't remain isolated in her room indefinitely. She needed to face David to heal. When she saw the ring he had bought for April, she concluded she would not be able to win. A part of her fiercely resisted accepting the truth that David was not and would never be hers. When she caught a glimpse of Zoey, she realized she could not continue to put up with such a significant amount of misery for someone who did not care about her feelings. "I need your help." Moreover, she raised her chin and spoke in an authoritative tone. "I require your assistance to secure my termination."

"What?" As Zoey took her time, she asked whether she needed to pay more attention. She was going nuts, or Aria was going insane, depending on how you look at it.

"I need you to help me get David to fire me."
