Allen Zhang asked Sieg to carry the ten-faced Guanyin statue, pack up, and the two left the sewer exit, driving towards the motel where Black was staying.
In a few minutes, they drove to the Red Palm Motel on West Street, parked the Jeep by the roadside, and noticed that the motel was old and run-down. The second floor even had women's bikinis hanging, and there weren't many people around, the rent must be low.
They got out of the car and entered the motel.
There was an old man who looked to be in his fifties or sixties at the front desk, Allen wasn't sure if he was the owner of the motel, who was immersed in watching short videos and drinking a Coke.
Seeing the two men enter, he nonchalantly asked, "Are you looking to rent a room? A standard double room is 60 US dollars, please provide a driving license. One person needs to register with one ID, two people need to register with two IDs."
"We're here looking for someone," Allen Zhang said.
