Chapter 8: The First Steps of Restoration

"Well, that's disappointing, yet understandable," I said as I walked through the portal. The forest was dying; I would have hoped it was more resilient, but I guess I was asking for too much. The forest and grass had withered away; the wonder had vanished with only the dried leaves on the ground as a reminder of what I had done.

"What is this feeling, Father?"

"Well, Aurora, you're feeling the anguish and pain of the deadlands," I said as I turned around and looked at my children, who had tears threatening to burst from their eyes.

"This is one of the reasons for your creation," I said as I turned and looked at them.

"This pain is what sparked my goal in this life; as you can see, all around us is death, but what you can feel is that this destruction and death is nothing natural; the natural mana has been tampered with."

"And my purpose in this life is to help the world heal and stop its suffering. So, my children, I ask if you want this also to be one of your purposes in life." I asked them.

They seemed deep in thought as they felt the seriousness of what I was asking.

"Though our race is one connected with nature, with the existence of our dimension, you can live in bliss. Never will the weight of what I'm asking you reach you; I will prevent it to the best of my abilities." I said with loving eyes to get my point across.

So I ask you, my children, one final time, will you join my cause.

I will Father, Eryndor said.

Thank you, my child, I expected this from you, you're always one to take the initiative, I said with a smile

My words seemed to have a domino effect as the rest of my children agreed after my words

"Thank you, my children. I appreciate it."

"I'll help as well"

Well, this was unexpected. I didn't think she would help, either. I thought she would just observe.

"Why is that Lyra," I said as I tilt my head in confusion.

"Not that I don't appreciate the help it's just that it was unexpected"

She looked at me, before sighing.

"Well, you saved my life, which in turn, saved my children from death, the least I could do is help fulfill your aspirations."

"But …"

"No, I want to do this," she said, her eyes filled with determination.

"Hah, okay," I sighed in defeat. I didn't want her to feel obligated to help me because I saved her, but it seemed her mind was made up.

______________________________

"Get ready," Soren said as he closed his eyes, Lyra and everyone else 15 feet behind him.

A green glow bloomed between his hands burning with vitality.

Soren raised his hands as the glow grew in size and like a balloon popped as an aura of green burst into a circle.

As it passed through Soren's children and his first friend Lyra they couldn't help but feel invigorated.

This feeling of warmth, of vitality was so pleasant it almost seemed addictive, however, this was because they had never experienced this amount of nature mana as the children were still newborns and Lyra was a giant wolf, who in their right minds would heal her…

As the green aura passed, the previous dying forest gained back its lost vitality but it didn't end there as it seems the increase in Soren's point of power for tier 1 also increased the range of his mana.

It no longer stopped at its previous range; now, it pushed past that, as grass, flowers, and shrubs grew along with the dead trees, as leaves began to grow, forming a canopy, though a small one.

The aura continued to spread, bringing life before it faded away as it passed 150 meters.

What was once barren, is now filled with life even the air seemed to cool down as the small canopy above shielded them from the sun's light.

Turning around Soren could only see the shock on his children's faces as they began to look around and explore. His children had of course seen a forest they just come from Eldoria after all but the difference with Eldoria was this was created using one's mana not from natural mana.

Soren's POV

I could tell they wanted to explore and see if there were any differences because of the difference in the source of mana, even I didn't notice it at first, it's like my presence is contained within everything though I can feel it diminishing already, it seems my mana leaves a 'mark' on anything it affects or maybe not, I would have to test out and see.

"Everyone, gather around."

"Now, what I did was just laying the foundation of where we're starting, I want those with nature mana to help extend the area of the forest range but your main focus is to help the foundation to become more stable."

"What I mean by stable is just reinforce the vitality within the area to last a bit longer. Extending the forest will be my main objective."

"For those with earth mana, even tho life has sprouted on the ground it is still cracked and dry I want you guys to mend the ground as well as possible and move some plants around to put them in a position where they can achieve maximum growth, ask your siblings with nature mana for help"

"As for those with water mana, not only should you water the area, but I also want you to focus on wetting the ground so your siblings will have an easier time manipulating the ground."

"As for Lyra, your application of wind mana makes what you can do, limited, the only thing I could think of, would be using your mana to make the air move a bit faster. As you can tell the air though moving is kinda stagnant, making air it move faster could allow air to pass through the forest, maybe carrying the pollen of the plants into the air"

I looked at her and all I saw was a blank face.

"Oh, let me explain, do you know the yellow stuff in the flowers that pollen, when it drifts in the air and touches another plant makes more plants, I could go into details but you get the main idea"

She shakes her head

"Good are you guys ready"

"Yes, Father"

"Yes"

"Now, let's begin everyone"
