Before, Lin Xue'er had asked Qin Feng to help appraise a Xuande Furnace at Lin Yutang's place. He maintained Old Lin's reputation as Lake City's number one appraisal expert and secured a spot to participate in the Lake City Antique Appraisal Conference. As a token of gratitude, Old Lin wanted to invite Qin Feng to join him.
But Qin Feng was not interested.
He only had a cursory understanding of antiques and was far from being genuinely interested.
"I'm telling you, Xue'er, I really don't know much. The only reason I correctly judged that furnace before was because I had encountered a genuine one. Going with Old Lin would just embarrass him; I'd better not," said Qin Feng.
"Who says you need to understand? My grandpa just wants you to get a taste of the world," Lin Xue'er said. "Let me tell you, he's really got a high opinion of you now."
"High opinion of what?"
"Of course, he thinks you'd make a good Lin family son-in-law!"
"Ptui!"
