Chapter 7 : Oliver & Oliver II

'Sigh. Why did I give [True Eye] to Oliver?' Van thought.
[True Eye] is the ability that Oliver gained due to his Aurelius lineage.
[True Eye] allows one to see the true nature of the world.
At the moment, Oliver's [True Eye] can only detect the aura of a person.
For example, Oliver can detect whether someone is good or evil through the color of their aura, which is either black or white.
The whiter a person's aura, the better they are, and vice versa.
However, there are also other mixed colors apart from black and white. These other colors reflect a person's emotions.
For instance, blue indicates sadness, red indicates anger, and other colors show different emotions.
In the original novel, Oliver saw Van's aura as black.
Because of this, Oliver was always frightened when looking at Van and could never become close to him.
However, Van, being reincarnated, might have a different aura in Oliver's [True Eye].
Van wondered what color aura Oliver saw emanating from him, making Oliver continue to approach him.
Van then shook his legs to try and get rid of Oliver, who was clinging to his feet, but it was in vain. The little boy kept sticking to his feet.
In the end, Van gave up and turned to look at Olivia, who was hiding behind their mother.
In contrast to her brother, Olivia was frightened when she saw Van.
But Van understood the reason behind Olivia's fear of him.
Olivia had [Mana Eye], which allowed her to detect the quantity, quality, and type of [Mana].
On the other hand, Van had an extraordinarily high amount of mana for his age. Additionally, his [Shadow] and [Void] attributes gave his [Mana] a more intimidating aura.
"Then, I'll excuse myself, Mother." Van said.
"Alright." his mother replied.
She then used gravity magic to pull Oliver, who was hugging Van's leg, away.
"B-brother!" Oliver said while trying to reach for Van's thigh, as if not wanting to be separated from him.
Van merely stared silently at the little boy, who was floating in front of him, and tried to check his [Status].

Van eventually left the three of them and walked towards his room.

After finishing up, I lay down on my bed. The empty room gives off a quiet atmosphere.
But this is good for me.
After all, in my previous life, I always wrote my novels in an empty and silent room to think freely without distractions.
'I think it's time to put my plan into motion.' I thought seriously.
This plan I've laid out must succeed without failure. If even one step fails, my life will be in danger.
"[Demon King Gehenna]." I muttered.
Even saying his name, I could feel the atmosphere in my room change.
It felt like the temperature dropped by a few degrees, and the light became slightly dimmer.
What a cursed name, just mentioning it made the environment around me change drastically.
[Demon King Gehenna] is the Demon King who was sealed 1,000 years ago.
Although it is said to be sealed, in reality, only his soul is sealed.
As for the body of [Demon King Gehenna], it might have been turned into a steroid pill by the [Gehenna Cult].
The [Gehenna Cult] is an organization that aims to release the seal on [Demon King Gehenna] so he can descend to the world again. This organization will stop at nothing to break the seal on the Demon King.
In the original novel, the main antagonist of Oliver, besides Van, is this organization.
The ultimate goal of my plan is to prevent [Demon King Gehenna] from being released.
If [Demon King Gehenna] is freed, the world is very likely to be destroyed, and I will die too. That's why [Demon King Gehenna] must never be allowed to return to this world.
However, there's an unexpected variable I can't factor into my plan.
That unexpected variable is [Demon King Gehenna] himself.
1,000 years have passed, and the seal is surely weakening. [Demon King Gehenna] will release a part of his soul to interfere with worldly affairs.
Not only is [Demon King Gehenna] powerful, but he is also extremely intelligent and cunning. His intelligence surpasses anyone else in this world.
Some actions taken by the [Gehenna Cult] are actually orchestrated by [Demon King Gehenna].
Even Van himself is a pawn on the chessboard being played by [Demon King Gehenna].
However, that will not happen again in this life. Because the one in control of this body is no longer Van from [Naive Hero], but Van from Earth.
I have the upper hand in terms of information compared to [Demon King Gehenna].
"I will make the best use of this information." I muttered.
I then got up from the bed and activated [101 Shadows].
"[Huginn & Muninn]!" I muttered.
With that, my shadow rippled, and a pair of black and white crows appeared from my shadow.
"Go. Find that person." I said.
"Krakk krakk. Understood, Master!" the two crows said and flew out through the window.
My eyes gleamed as I watched them leave.
[Huginn and Muninn] are the 6th [Shadow] of [101 Shadows].
[Huginn and Muninn] are Odin's pet crows from Norse mythology. They can fly for long periods and over great distances, and they possess extremely high intelligence.
In the original myth, they would fly around the world and bring information to Odin. A task such as searching for people or objects would be an easy job for this pair of crows.
