I had just returned home and finished unpacking my luggage when she walked in shortly after.

"What's this? Just because I went to that cocktail party with Jaxon instead of meeting your dad, you're throwing a tantrum and running away? Garrison, how childish can you be?"

Unfazed by her mockery, I calmly informed her, "The divorce papers are on your vanity. Don't forget to sign them."

This time, I finally caught a glimpse of panic in Seraphina's eyes, but it vanished in an instant.

What followed was her anger.

"Garrison, there's a limit to how unreasonable you can be!"

"You know how badly I want to transition into film. Getting close to Jaxon is just for movie opportunities! Can't you be a little understanding instead of making a fuss at a time like this?"
