I scanned the store, noticing my colleagues were occupied with customers.
I was the sole employee without a task.
Muttering under my breath, I spun around to retrieve the ring from storage for her.
Jeremiah noticed my flat midsection and his brow furrowed.
"Zenith, why are you constantly wearing a girdle? Don't you realize it's harmful for the baby?"
I set the ring down without looking at him.
"Sir, I don't believe we've met. If you continue this harassment, I'll have no choice but to contact law enforcement."
He suddenly grasped my arm, attempting to raise my top.
I moved away, which angered him.
"Are you aware of your actions? You're five months pregnant! Who allowed you to work?"
"Are you delusional? I'm not expecting."
"Are you buying or not? If not, please leave."
Ignoring my words, he made a public scene by grabbing my collar.
"Zenith, despite our divorce, I'm still the father of your unborn child and have a right to care for you."
