A single photograph changed everything. My cellphone buzzed, and I opened it to see an image that chilled me to the core. There was Kade Stone, the leader of the Stone Fang Pack and my supposed soulmate, sleeping peacefully. But what caught my eye was the telltale silver hair on his face - one that didn't belong to me.

Realization hit me like a punch to the gut. Kade wasn't exclusively mine. Another female wolf had wormed her way into his life, hidden behind his facade of strength and dedication. Suddenly, all his extravagant presents - the rare jewelry, the custom-made outfits, the luxurious getaways - made sense. They weren't tokens of affection, but attempts to ease his guilty conscience.

As I stared at the damning evidence, my phone rang. Kade's name appeared on the screen.

"Luna," he said, his tone authoritative yet warm, once capable of making my heart skip a beat. "I've got a surprise for you. Come to the ritual site tonight."

His voice dripped with persuasion, but I kept my composure. "Thanks, Kade," I replied evenly. "I've got something for you too."

He paused, caught off guard. "Oh really?"

"Yes," I said softly, a cold smile playing on my lips. "It's going to be unforgettable."

That night, he gathered the pack at the sacred clearing. The moon hung heavy in the sky, casting eerie shadows over the ancient stones that marked our pack's heart. Kade stood tall and proud at the center.

He held up a necklace, crafted from a rare space rock said to strengthen a werewolf's lunar connection. "For my Luna," he announced loudly. "To commemorate five years of her unwavering loyalty and resilience."

The pack howled their approval, their admiration palpable. As he fastened the necklace around my neck, his fingers lingered. "I apologize for being distant lately," he murmured. "I've been dealing with security issues."

I nodded, playing the role of the devoted partner. But as the pack cheered around us, I caught a whiff of an unfamiliar scent on his clothes - a perfume that wasn't mine.

I maintained my composure, smiling as I pulled out a small black envelope from my cloak. "I have something for you as well," I said quietly.

Kade looked intrigued as he took the envelope. "Open it in two weeks," I added casually. "It's a surprise."

He grinned, unaware of the turmoil beneath my calm exterior. "You always think of everything, Luna. I'm truly blessed."

The pack teased and cooed, their voices filled with good-natured envy.

"Alpha Kade and Luna Freya are the perfect match!" someone shouted.

"We're fortunate to have them as our leaders," another agreed, echoed by the pack's approval.

I noticed movement in the crowd. It was Lila Vayne, Kade's silver-haired second-in-command and close ally. Her keen eyes focused on the envelope in his hand, her expression grim.

As the ceremony ended, Kade leaned close, his breath warm on my ear. "Let's continue this celebration privately, Luna."

I agreed, excusing myself briefly. In the forest's edge, I overheard two pack members chatting by the fire.

"Did you see that space rock necklace? The Alpha really spoils his Luna!"

"I'm so envious. Where's my mate who'll treat me like royalty?"

Their laughter was cut short by a cynical snort.

"That necklace is just for show," a voice growled. It was Lila. "If only they knew what really goes on behind the scenes."

Her words stung like claws. A fire ignited within me - fueled by betrayal, anger, and a growing determination.

That envelope? It wasn't a loving gift. It was my ticket to freedom, containing words that would break the bond that had held me captive for far too long.
