The following morning, the pack gathered, Lucia's heart was still pounding from what Clara told her the night before, her night was really restless. 

The tension in the lodge was really much as the pack council gathered because the council had just been called without any notice. 

Lucia stood near the back, her arms were crossed tightly as she tried to get use to the background. 

"This meeting is not really necessary," Kain said, his voice was cutting through all the murmurs of the gathered wolves. 

"Lucia is under my protection. That is just the end of it." He was standing at the center of the room, his presence was really commanding attention. 

Clara, seated among the council members, leaned forward with a very mocking smile. 

"With all due respect, Alpha, this is not just about your protection. This is about the real safety of the pack." 

She said.
